When he left the first time

You sat in the dark room and yawned. You cried for what felt like an eternity. You stand up off the bed and walk to the closet where L said there was clothes. You open the door and see a sea of white shirts and navy blue sweat pants. You smile softly and grab a set of the all to familiar clothes and change finally.
It couldn't have really been 10 years... could it? You think sliding the shirt over your head. You sit on the bed again and pull your knees to your chest and rest your forehead against you knees, you look at the clock to the side that read 2:37 am. You sigh not hearing to door knob turn. Your head snaps up when you see the door slowly open. L pokes his raven head into the room. "You're still awake...." he muttered under his breath. You nod and send him a sad smile. He sighs looking tired as always. "If you would like to you could come help me set up the computers in the main office," he trailed off placing his thumb on his lip. You nodded and stood up wrapping your arms around yourself and started walking toward the door. You didn't look up at L, you walked by him your arm brushing his.

You both walk in silence down the long corridor and you reach a room, L holds the door open awkwardly and you walk into a room wrapped wall to wall in monitors. Your mouth hangs open slightly and look at the screens in awe. You realize it's just you and L in the room.  "Where's Watari?" You ask softly brushing your finger tips along an unopened box. You look at L and he's just staring at you. "Sleep keeps a sharp mind." He replies back with his hands shoved back in his pockets. You nod and grab a pair of scissors and start opening boxes. L starts to hook up wires and strategically placing computers on the desks in the office. You open the last box and pull the monitor out removing all the plastic and paper, you look up and you're all alone. "Ryuzaki?" You call softly. "Under here," he states and he raises an arm to the side from under a desk. You walk to him seeing him laying on his back with computer wires everywhere. His arms were above his head and you could see the top of his boxers. They hugged right under his pelvic bone. You shook your head at the thought. "Yuri..." L's voice snapped your thoughts away from his body, you looked up flushed seeing L has sat up and is staring at you hard with his thumb on his bottom lip. You blush,"Y-Yes? Sorry." You sputter our. "Would you mind coming under here and helping me?" He states still staring at you with the same look from earlier when he kissed you. You nodded and crawled under the cramped desk laying on your back exactly as L was. He lays back and hands you a plethora of wires. "Please separate these..." he says softly your hand brushing against his. You start to pull the wires apart and then you look at him, him still looking at you. L placed either hand on both sides of your face and pulls you on crashing his lips into yours. Your eyes widen and your hands drop the wires tangling in his raven hair. He kisses you hungrily, his hands sliding down your face and slowly over your shoulders. You slide your tongue against his bottom lip and he hesitantly grants you access his hands finally resting on your hips. You deepen the kiss by wrapping your arms around his neck, kissing him back just as hard. You go like this for a few minutes, no groping no taking clothes off just kissing. Your eyes tear up a little, you've wanted him for so long. A tear falls from your eye and hits L in the cheek. He pulls away finally you both gasping for air. You hear the door open and wipe your face quickly from the tears. L pops his head out, "Watari, is it morning already?" He said nonchalantly as if he wasn't just making out. I pop my head out, the look on Watari's face was one of knowing and victory. "Yes, Miss L/N I would like to start showing you all that goes into of taking care of Master Ryuzaki." Watari stated. You look at L who is looking back at you, "Of course," you finally breathe after catching your breath. You crawl from under the desk where L had gone back to hooking up wires, he had a ting on pink on his cheeks again. You adjust your clothes and stand up following the old Asian man. You walk in silence for what seemed like forever until you reach the elevator. The two of you stay quiet until you reach a huge door, "This is my room Miss L/N, here you and I will meet everyday to discuss and so I can train you." Watari said opening the door to a similar suite that L has. You nod looking around the room and stepping inside. Watari walks past you and grabs a measuring tape off his desk. He walks back to and signals for you to lift your arms. You do so as the man takes your measurements, "Your uniform will consist of a black dress suit, a white button up and a black neck scarf, I ask if you wear heels you bring a change of flats as well." Watari continued writing your measurements down. You nod and hug yourself again thinking about what just happened. "He's always had something for you F/N..." you hear the old man speak softly his years showing in his voice. You smile, "And I him..." you say softly looking at he sparkling eyes of your old friend. "He never stopped thinking about you, on the rare occasions he slept he would call out your name. You two were always very close aside from Near and Mello. I remember when we left Wammy House how heartbroken L was, I was there for that touching goodbye then." The old man chuckled, you felt a blush creep across your cheeks. "You saw that huh?" You say jokingly, of course Watari saw, he was always there.

-flashback-
"NO! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?!" 15 year old you screamed at a 16 year old L. "I have to... I can't stay." Young L stated monotone staring at his feet. Tears welled up in your eyes, "Who's going to keep me company? Who is going to talk to me now, huh?! Who will..." you trailed off with every word you took a step toward L until you were pounding his chest with your fist. Hitting over and over again crying and screaming until you couldn't breath or stand anymore. L caught you in his arms holding you close petting the top of your head. You screamed into his chest and soaked his shirt. "I'm sorry...." he whispered against your hair holding you close, he pulled your face up and planted a hard sad kiss against your lips. You cried harder and threw your arms around his neck and kissed him back. The kiss got deeper and more heated. He picked you up by your waist still kissing you carrying you to the couch in the room. You wrapped your legs around his waist, he tasted sweet like strawberries. He laid you gently on the couch and laid on top of you kissing your lips then your cheeks and down your neck kissing every piece of skin he could get his lips on leaving a burning trail down your neck. There's a faint knock at the door snapping you both back. You pull apart as if someone electrocuted the two of you. L quickly grabbed a pillow to place in his lap as the door swung open and a little blonde boy charged in along with a little shy white haired boy. Watari has a knowing smile on his face as he looked at the two of you. You blushed and so did L. "Master L, unfortunately we must be going and these two wanted to see you before we go." L nodded, "Of Course Watari." L said a little breathlessly. The two boys quickly took over the room and bounced off the walls, you smiled as you saw L smile a little at all the questions the boys were asking.

You looked out the window of Watari's room and touched your lips without thinking. "How many people has L... been with..." you trailed off, Watari walked and stood next to you looking out the window. " To be honest, a few. He always seemed to try to find someone who either looked like you or acted like you." The old man says placing a hand on your shoulder. "He never got close to replacing you." Watari whispered and hugged you softly. "Now, to business..." The old man trailed off listing off many things, you continue staring out the window nodding every so often, touching your lips.
