I woke up startled; I just had a horrible nightmare about Connie’s death. Again. The way they had killed her... Her frozen face staring up at me. The guilt has never left me.

Some of that negativity was washed away when I realized that someone’s arms were wrapped around me. It was oddly comforting. I felt warm and safe. Like a huge wall was protecting me.

My eyes widened to see a sleeping, shirtless Harry and his body entangled with mine. His uncovered chest was dressed in various, random tattoos. I stared a them, letting my eye linger on each one.

I shifted uncomfortably away from him but he just pulled me closer. He nuzzled his head into my chest causing a fire to erupt inside of me.

Come on Harry, this bed is huge. Why do you have to literally be on top of me? This makes you look so desperate.

I lay in the bed like a stiff board; not moving a muscle. I gripped the sheets tightly and then slowly let them go. As moments passed, I grew more relaxed. My heart rate slowed. I felt…comfortable. Like Harry was never going to hurt me. Like he was always going to be there for me. Is that weird?

A ray of sunshine began to peek through the curtains and shone right into my line of vision. I closed my eyes and curled my toes. Though warm and cheerful, it was too bright.

After a few more minutes, Harry’s eyes opened. He let go of me, yawned, and stretched out his arms. I scooted away from him until the point that I almost fell out of the bed.

“Morning,” he mumbled as he shifted positions, totally oblivious to his actions before. His hair was messy. He looked adorable though. Wait what?

“Morning…” I trailed off.

He sat upright and rubbed his eyes. “How did you sleep?”

“Fine,” I replied. “How did I get in this bed? I thought-”

“I carried you,” he interjected.

“Oh, uh thanks,” I muttered as I laid back down a good distance away from him.

“No problem,” he replied. “Is this- Is this weird for you?”

Yes. Majorly.

I played with the hem of the comforter. “Is what weird?”

“That we’re like, sharing a room,” he laid more comfortably on his side and propped his head up with his hand. His bare chest was mocking me. I stared at it for a second, then looked away, trying to not make it obvious I was totally checking him out.

I looked away and shrugged, “I dunno.” It wouldn't be so weird if we didn't share a bed.

To be honest, it was quite strange for me. I have always been sheltered. Never have I ever spent so much time alone with a male before, let alone share a bedroom with one.

“You snore.”

“What?” I laughed.

I said, you snore,” he gave me a cheeky smile. He laughs and his eyes sparkle.

“Sorry, I can’t control it!” I held my hands up in defense. “At least I don’t spoon people without them knowing!” I picked up the nearest pillow and threw it at him.

“Hey!” he chuckled. “You liked it,” he smirked as he scooted closer.

“Did not!” I said as my cheeks reddened. Okay maybe a little.

“HA! You’re blushing!” he said as he picked up a pillow.

“Am not!” I yelled and threw another pillow at him.

“You’re feisty this morning, aren’t you?” he growled, “You’re going to pay!”

He picked up a pillow and started to beat me with it over and over laughing with each hit. “Hey!” I protested.

"Pillow fight!" He yells childishly.

We were both standing on our knees on the mattress continually hitting each other. Both of us were dying of laughter.

I tried to hit him with the pillow, but my hand slipped and I hit him in the…balls. Oops. I actually started laughing. I don't know why. But it was funny.

Harry gripped his crotch and toppled over. “Why did you do that?” he groaned.

Okay, now I feel bad. “Oh my God! Sorry, it was an acc-“

“Sucker,” he yelled and attacked me.

He hit me in the thigh with the pillow. I tried snatching it away, but it just pulled me on top of him. I rested on his soft skin for a moment until I rolled off of him bursting out into laughter. Harry was clutching his stomach and rolling from side to side. “I got you good!”

It felt nice to laugh and have a good time for once. Even though somewhere deep inside me made me feel like we were connecting.

“You're such a comedian,” I said sarcastically.

In the midst of our fit of laughter, a voice interrupted us.

“Ahem.”

Our heads snapped up to see Mrs. Danvers standing in the doorway. Silence slapped us all in the face.

“Lena, Dahmer would like to see you,” she said, eyeing Harry.

I nodded and stepped out of bed. “Should I change?” I asked her. I was still wearing my pajamas.

“There’s no need. Come on, now,” she grabbed my arm and led me out of the room. I looked back one last time at Harry and gave a weak smile. He returned a shy wave. I didn't want to leave, but as his image grew smaller, I knew I had to.

Dahmer’s office was a short walk down a few flights of stairs. Mrs. Danvers knocked on the door that was guarded by Dahmer’s soldiers. Their faces held blank expressions.

Mrs. Danvers knocked on the door twice and the door opened. A girl who looked a little older than me and had tears in her eyes was being escorted out of the room by a guard. Dahmer was zipping up his pants. I felt like I was going to be sick. What if he does it to me?

“Ah, Lena. Long time, no see. How are you? Please sit.”

“I’m fine.” I cautiously sat down and folded my hands. Please don't rape me.

“Good, good.”

This man is so sick. I was trying my best to keep the bile down.

“I just wanted to check in with you,” he said. I do not understand why he is being nice to me.”How has your stay been so far?”

“Uh, fine. Thanks.” I cannot believe I just said thanks to the dictator. I must be going mad.

“I wanted to ask you something,” he narrowed his eyes on me and lowered his voice. “How is Harry?”

I wrinkled my eyebrows. “He’s fine.”

“Is he? I was worried about him.” Yeah, right. You didn't seem so worried whoring around a second ago.

“He’s fine,” I assured him.

Dahmer gave me a blank stare and stayed quiet for a few moments. “Good. You are dismissed.” Dahmer waved me off and started to go back to his work. That’s it?

A bit confused, I stepped out of the room. Mrs. Danvers was waiting for me. She eyed me up and down coldly, making me shudder. “Go back to your room. I trust that you will do as you are told.”

“O-okay,” I replied. Everyone is acting so weird.

I quickly made my way upstairs and into the bedroom, excited to see Harry again. But to my disappointment, I opened the bedroom door to an empty room. The bed was neatly made, as if no one had slept in it last night.

I can never win with this boy, can I?
