"Natalie Blues , wake up!"
I raise my head to a loud bang on my desk. My vision was blurry at first , but now I finally see the tall stern teacher of mines , Mr.Sanchez, straightens himself in front of me.
Oh right , I slept in history class..
"Now what's your next excuse for sleeping in class?" Mr.Sanchez says , hands behind his back like a gentlemen.
I gazed around the classroom. Eyes of classmates observed every move I took. Few snickered in the back , which was typical , and others were either texting or daydreaming off to Wonderland. Mr.Sanchez always had something to say to embarrass you..
"I-I was tired." The words stumble out my lips. " I'm sorry."
"Sorry isn't enough!" Mr.Sanchez shouts. " You're only sorry that you got caught."
I rolled my eyes. This was the worst period ever , when was summer vacation when I needed it? I mean , if your parents fought every night , wouldn't you be exhausted? Nobody understood. Nobody.
"I'm sorry for falling asleep - not that I been caught." I said , ignoring the 'manners of not talking back'. " But have you ever felt how it feels to be awoken at 3 o'clock in the morning to just hear shouts in the hallways outside your door? "
Now the snickering stops , and Mr.Sanchez purses his wrinkly lips as if thinking of something - another statement to embarrass me , perhaps.
I continued, " Thinking of another way to embarrass me? I wouldn't dare if I were you. You see , you can't humiliate me since I can sue you for that."
Hopefully that was even an accurate lawsuit to sue for. I didn't really want to look ignorant in front of nearly thirty-nine teenagers like me.I already made myself look ashamed...and useless in the past.
"Tsk.Tsk.Tsk." I hear Mr.Sanchez says as he walks towards the whiteboard.
What now? Is he gonna write my name on the board...for what? I already threaten him-
"Class dismissed." He says calmly with his back facing the class - who still stared at the hopeless me.
We got out of class pretty early. With nobody to talk to in the early period , I decide to sit outside where the view of the field was shown. Walking in the highschool hallway was...harsh. You either saw snickering , bullying , or crying. If you saw my hallway peaceful , then I think you're on drugs. There was nothing peaceful about my highschool , or my life. Everybody seen me as the stupid girl who knew nothing better.Even with my dad's name haunting me , he was a murderer five years ago. He is still in prison , yet my mom manages to have a new boyfriend. The soon stepfather of mines tends to make drama up , and blames it on either Mother or me. That is why I just....escape the house , and relax in the woods nearby.
"Hey killer's girl." Tommy , the douche-bag here , shoves me to the side.
Although I ignore their insults and show my strength , my feelings still get shoot down like a bird and a bullet. The books that laid in my arms flatters to the dirty floors , and my glasses flies off to a further spot. The blurriness I had now was 5x more than I had during class. Without my glasses , I'm as useless as a flying bird with no wings.
"Don't mess with her.." I heard a voice in the back.Thinking it was a up-stander , I was wrong. The voice added , " Or she will kill you." In addition with that stupid joke , laughter scatters among the hallway. I just felt like crying.
"Stop.."I said , yet the laughter hovered my voice.
They didn't , and now that was when tears seriously began to drop. Nobody cared if I shed tears , so they probably wouldn't if I died. As tears dropped , laughter increases. Where were the darn supervisors?
Cassie , Tommy's bitchy girlfriend , hands me my glasses.
"Thank you-" I began , but then the blonde done something horrible.
So horrible that a harsh feeling kicked in my stomach.
Cassie throws my glasses to the ground , and steps on it like stepping on a can. I heard the shatterings of broken glass scattering , and the crumble of my only affordable eyeglasses. Now , I wasn't sad. Revenge and anger flushed in my blood. My father's blood ,who made my name in vain, began to pump in me. I felt the anger inside. But yet I wouldn't dare kill anybody.
"Leave me alone!!" I screamed on top of the heavens , beyond the world.
The scream was so loud that a nearby glass had cracked - beside my glasses. I never felt so angry and unwanted in my life , ever. The pain of suffering nudged my chest. But the eerie silence was what made me have goosebumps now.
I opened my eyes.
Frozen faces of laughing witnesses freezes in a scary matter. Cassie , who highfighed a girl aside , freezes in position. Everybody around me was....frozen. Was it some sci-fi novel about frozen time? This couldn't be-
Wait ,now I realized something , too.
If I could see faces , then my eyesight was...back. The clear view made me .... cry. I always wanted to naturally see the world like this - not the frozen situation. Looking at the floor , I see my glasses that laid in pieces everywhere.
What did I do to stop time? I thought.
Quickly snatching my books from the floor , I run off. Shoving aside frozen people in position felt...weird. It was like if air and atoms itself was frozen too. The highschool exit was an open trail. I didn't waste no time. Shoving the door open , yet it felt heavy , I run out.
What if I'm stuck in frozen time ... forever?
