Chapter Five

"What happened this morning?" Niall asks me as we make our way across the park.

"I'd rather not talk about it," I reply uncomfortably.

"Are you sure? You know I am always open to listen," he offers.

"I know. It's just. I was so close to having him back... then he left me again," I mumble, almost breaking out in tears.

He doesn't reply at first, but puts a comforting arm around my shoulder. I reach up and take his hand in mine near my neck. I love how open I feel I can be with Niall. The only other person I have felt this way with is my best friend, Vi.

"It's all going to work out in the end. I can tell," he says, and for the first time I think it just might.

We walk around the park riding every single ride we can before Zayn texts us both at five saying that we have to get going. We both head to the front gate as instructed and meet up with the rest of the boys and four guards.

"Hey, guys," Niall says as we walk up to everyone, his arm flung around my shoulders just like before.

"Why is your arm around her?" Zayn asks calmly, but I can see the fury in his face. Niall doesn't answer, but instead slinks his arm back to his side. "I don't want you dating anyone. I've told you this, Arielle," he says, pointing his finger at me.

"We're just friends, Zayn," I defend, and I swear I see Niall frown for a second before nodding along.

"That is too friendly," he responds, trying to control his frustration so he doesn't draw attention.

"I'm sorry," I mutter, not wanting to make him angrier with me than he already is.

He visibly calms down and nobody says anything to interrupt the awkward silence until Peter pipes up from behind me.

"We have to get back for soundcheck," he says, ushering us into the monorail and eventually back to the two black SUVs.

I end up riding in a car with Louis and Liam. As soon as we take our seats in the back, they begin to talk to me.

"Don't worry, Arielle, I'm sure he is just upset about whatever it is that happened this morning. He isn't mad at you," Liam comforts, taking my hand in his.

"Even if he is, it'll pass. Zayn never stays mad for a long time," Louis adds from my left, taking my other hand.

If only they knew how long Zayn has been mad at me for...

When we arrive back at the hotel for a quick change of clothing, I reapply some makeup, wanting to look nice for my first concert of theirs. I decided to wear shorts after a long day in my tight jeans. I was the last to make it to the lobby, and we all left for the concert venue.

I waited patiently, scrolling through my Twitter as the boys got dressed and went through hair and makeup. I read all the nasty comments, beginning to believe a lot of them. I was feeling really down when Louis walked over to me and sat down next to me on the floor.

"Whatchya doing?" he asks, leaning over to try and see my screen.

"Scrolling through Twitter," I answer, pulling my phone away.

"You aren't getting hate, are you?" he asks, completely serious.

"Nope," I lie, switching the screen of the phone off.

"Good. A lot of people who get close to us get bombarded with it," he tells me before Lou calls him over to get his makeup done. "I'll talk to you later."

"Bye," I reply as he gets up and walks over.

I sigh frustratedly and my stomach rumbles loudly. I haven't eaten all day except for some popcorn at Disney World.

"You shut up. You don't need more food. Do you know what they are saying about me? They are calling me fat and they're right. So you stop," I whisper to my belly strangely.

"Boys, it is time for soundcheck," the stage manager calls to them just as Louis is finished with his makeup.

They head off onto the stage while I stayed seated. I have a seat in the front row if I want it, but I'm not too sure that I am going to utilize it tonight.

I ended up sitting backstage the whole time and scrolling my Twitter feed. At the end of the night, I am feeling depressed as well as tired. The boys come in all sweaty and I stand up to greet them.

"Did you stay back here the whole time?" Louis asks me, frowning.

"Yeah. I didn't feel great," I lie again.

"Oh. I'm sorry. We'll just change, meet a few VIP fans and be on our way," he says as all of the boys head off to their dressing rooms.

One of the guards leads me to another room where I find around twenty girls wearing 1D shirts in a line. One of them walks up to me with a giddy grin.

"Are you Zayn's sister?" she asks me excitedly.

"Yes," I reply, wondering what she might want with me.

"Can I have your autograph?" she asks cheerfully.

"Sure," I say, surprised that she would want one from me.

I sign her phone case and she gives me a wide grin before hugging me and walking back over to the group of girls. She talks to them shortly before another comes up to me.

"Hi," I say, thinking she might also want my signature.

Instead of answering me, she quickly kicks me in the knee before yelling "Niall is mine" and walking back to the group. I stay doubled over and holding my knee until the boys come back out from their rooms.

"Are you okay?" Liam asks as all of them herd around me.

"Yeah. One of your fans just kicked me and screamed 'Niall is mine,'" I explain, standing upright.

They all walk over to the fans and I hear Harry say as he points to me:

"Which one of you kicked her?"

Nobody raises their hand or makes any noise, so Louis comes back over to me and picks me up bridal style. I look over at Zayn and he is giving Louis the death glare. He is oblivious to it, though, and puts me down next to Harry.

"Which on of them hurt you?" he asks me.

"It doesn't matter. I'm fine," I say. I probably deserved it. After all, I am just a fat worthless slut.
