MARY PULLED ON HER high waisted jeans, her tube top, and her denim jacket before rushing out the door. Dustin said we was going to ride his bike to school so she didn't have to worry about dropping him off.

It was now almost Halloween, almost a full year since the incident with Richard and Will's disappearance.

And still, no one knew the truth.

Richard's parents still believe he's out there. It was, according to everyone else, a classic rich boy story, where he doesn't get what he wants so he decides to run away and come back in a week just to scare his parents.

Except he never came back.

Mary visited often until they moved last summer. They moved to a town nearby, just in case Richard came back. But Mary knew he wouldn't

She still wears his ring around her neck, on a chain where her ring now lays also. She thinks about him often but has moved on. Susan is still trying to get her to hook up with a guy from the basketball team.

Mary pulled into the parking lot and got out, leaning against the trunk, waiting for Susan. She watched as a blue Camaro pulled loudly into the parking lot. A small redhead got out of the passenger seat with a skateboard before riding towards the middle school.

A man came out of the driver's seat and Mary's heart sped. His had curly blonde hair that was long in the back but short in the front. He was wearing tight denim jeans with a white t-shirt and a denim jacket. He placed a cigarette in his mouth as his blue eyes made contact with her green ones. He gave her a wink before walking away.

"Would you look at that ass. Look at it go." A girl commented and Mary's eyes traveled down his figure. She shrugged and nodded with agreement before walking away.

Susan walked up to her as they made their way towards the front door, "Who was that?"

"I have no clue."

Once English class was over, Mary made her way to her locker. She placed her English reading book and grabbed her science book before closing the door. She let out a small squeak when the new boy's face replaced her locker door, "Can I help you?" Mary asked, turning to walk towards her biology class,

"Yes, actually." He smirked, "You know, I've been hearing these rumors about you."

"Oh, yeah?" She noticed the stares of the females around them and rolled her eyes, "What about them?"

"Are they true?"

"There's a lot of rumors out there. You're gonna have to be more specific." Mary stated, walking faster in order to get away from this new boy,

"That everyone close to you dies!" Mary paused and turned to look at him, "Your boss, your boyfriend, your friend."

Mary shook her head and watched as people passed her, "Richard and Barbra aren't dead. They're missing."

"So it is true." The boy smirked and Mary walked up to him,

"Why don't you find out." She told him before continuing to class.

"I'm Billy!" He yelled down the hallway,

"And I don't care!" Mary replied with a smile.

Why does her heart flutter around him? Even more intensely than it did with Richard?

After school, Mary went to the arcade with her brother and Lucas. After Benny's last year, Mary quit her job at the diner and got one at the arcade. Keith, the manager, would often follow her around, trying to ask her out, but other than that she loved her job. She could easily keep an eye on the boys as they spent a lot of their time there.

Mary looked around for her brother and friend when it was her break. When she couldn't find them, she went outside. She spotted the boys in the parking lot, Lucas with binoculars, "What are you two doing?!" Mary began walking towards them but froze when a blue Camaro sped towards her. The car stopped right in front of her, only a few inches away from her legs.

Billy shouted some words at the young girl in the car before she got out and stalked into the arcade, "One hour! I have a date tonight!"

Mary shook out of her haze and walked over to the driver's side, "Hey, sweetheart." Billy smirked, lowering his sunglasses,

She rolled her eyes and smiled, "I can take her home. My shift ends in an hour, don't want to keep Carol waiting."

When going to the car after school, Mary spotted the two making out on Billy's car. Her chest felt warm as she tried to look away. Billy put his sunglasses back in place, "Whatever. Wasting my time anyway." He said before speeding off.

Ah! And here's Billy! I'm trying to make him an asshole and kind at the same time. Am I doing okay with that?
