Chapter Three
“No shit?” I asked, while slurping a spaghetti noodle into my mouth. We were at school eating lunch the next day, and like every year, most of the students here, including Kyren and I, were wearing dark sunglasses because of our hangovers.
The confused faces the oblivious new teachers and freshmen made when they saw everyone wearing shades.. Priceless. Kyren ran up to me this morning telling me that she met this amazing guy that had wooed her last night.
“None what-so-EVER!” Kyren shrieked excitedly, and took a sip of her canned Sprite. I winced.
“Just because you got over your hangover by third period, doesn’t mean you could start yelling in other people's ears.” I expressed. She crossed her long, toned legs and waved me off.
“Anyways, yeah! His name is Oliver and he's vampire! And he sooo digged the Kyrennator, like he couldn't keep his hands off of me! We were so in the moment that, after he kissed my hand, oh my gawd!” She squealed, remembering the kiss. I took bite of a meatball, and rolled my hand, motioning for her to continue the story of her little rendezvous. She smiled brightly and continued.
“Yeah so, after that, I kissed him and we started making out in the kitchen! The kitchen! I felt so scandalous, Aubrey! Well that was until this random girl walked in with a vodka bottle looking for a cup, that totally ruined the moment. So I gave slipped him my number and walked out. Afterwards, I started making out with this gay guy on the stairs because he told me that he was confused about his sexual-”
I nodded my head, done with her story. “Yeah that's when I came in, remember? With my cup?” I lifted it from the table, flashing the Disney character that was on it. True, I had stolen a cup from someone's house at NBS but, I didn't know the person so technically I couldn’t return it. Also it was cute, so why couldn’t I?
It was currently filled with Coke from the teacher's lounge. I had connections. Recognition flashed through her eyes.
“OHH! You're the CUP GIRL!” She yelled, loudly. I cringed and kicked her shin under the table. She whimpered. People who had heard her exclamation, looked over at us, annoyed.
“Sorry. Oh! You're the cup girl!” She whispered. I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out at her.
“So, did you call him yet?” I asked, truly interested in the person who could potentially had what it took to get Ky over Drake.
“Well we've been texting all morning.” Kyren said sheepishly, and blushed. I dropped my fork.
“Awe.” I sent her a childish thumbs up and lifted my fork back up.
“Yup, him and his brother Tristan are coming here tomorrow.” She announced, cheerfully.
“Oh well, kudos for you. Its just too bad that he's a vampire, otherwise you guys for sure, would be mates. He sounds hot.” I rooted for her. But as soon as the word mate left my lips both she and I remembered when I came home late a couple of days ago. I ended up telling her the next day, and we both listened to sad songs and ate comfort food.
She gave me a sympathetic knowingly look. I shrugged, and started playing with my food.
“Maybe I should get a vampire boyfriend too.” I tried fake smiling but she just searched my eyes, looking at me. She decided to leave the topic alone and played along.
