The room was quite.

He didn't want to get up, but his soul burned in hunger.

The empty spot next to him was still warm.

He groggily sat up and stretched, jaw gaping in a loud yawn.

He slipped out of bed and walked to the door. Quickly going through and shutting it with a soft click, he made his down the hall and to the kitchen. There on the counter was a plate of eggs and sausage. Steam swirling off of them, showing it was still fresh. A tall glass of orange juice beside it.

His soul growled and seemingly pushed him forward. Obeying it's command he quickly sat down and began to eat.

Cutting through the thick meat, his body begging for the nourishment. He picked up the peace and devoured it. The second peace he ate more slowly to savoring the delicious tastes.

When he was done he picked up his plate and gulped down the rest of his drink before going to the sink. On his way he spotted a note held onto the fridge by a small colorful magnet.

I'll be back soon.
Be good and don't leave the house,
If you feel weak, take you meds.

Love you,
Ink

Stipple sighed, knowing 'soon' would be much longer that. He knew his mother would be gone for hours, maybe even days.

It wouldn't be the first time.

Stipple turned on the faucet and scrubbed his dishes clean before setting them on the drying rack.

Striding over to the couch, he grabbed the remote and turned the tv on.

He drifted through different shows, from cartoons to sitcoms to old western shows that some how still exist. He smiled slightly landing on a nature documentary about different birds and there habitats.

Soon he found his eyes wandering away from the tv and to the window beside it. He couldn't help but wish he could go outside. Sadly with his condition he couldn't. He learned that the hard way.

Forcing his gaze back on the screen he sighed. A dismal atmosphere seemed to settle like it always has.

Coda laid there, not knowing if he was still asleep or not. Not until a hand gently shook him awake.

"I'm up, I'm up." He groaned

Color laughed slightly. "Well good, I tried to wake you up earlier but you wouldn't budge so I left you to sleep in. I guess that was a bad idea since you slept half the day away."

Coda grunted, "What time is it."

"Three in the afternoon." Color hummed. Coda didn't know if he was kidding or not.

His older brother sighed, the bed shifted telling him Color was standing up. "Come on, I bet you're hungry."

A hand suddenly grabbed his, helping him out of bed and to the door. Color walked Coda down the stairs and to the kitchen. His older brother released his hand and walked towards the cubers. Coda found his way to the dining table and took a seat.

"Moms out working, and Dads off doing... something." Color said plainly. Coda nodded and hummed to show he was lessening. "That means we have the house to our selves!" . Coda once again nodded.

"I was thinking of inviting Lucky over for a bit."

Coda forced himself not to hiss.

Color walked over to him and set a bowl in front of him. His hand gently touched Codas shoulder and gave a small pat before pulling away. Color walked towards the living room as Coda was left to eat.

Thoughts bubbled in his mind.

Coda shivered for a reason he couldn't understand.
