It's hard to tell what has been going on lately since the government appears to be quiet. No one has heard much except for the orders of army men to tell us to stay calm and continue on with our day and if anything strange was happening, tell them immediately. Here in this small town, I guess we're more protected of what's out there. Though, it doesn't mean no one is living in constant fear of what has been happening lately. Of course of what little news we're getting now locally in the state.
I mean on the bright side we're still lucky to continue on with our daily lives, while knowing we're protected from what they keep trying to hide from us. Besides, family is still here.. Friends.. Even my love. I can tell why everyone is scared but, I know we could get through this..

"Kito?.." I quickly regained focus back to my environment as I turned to see my girlfriend with a look of concern, hearing her gentle voice again;
"Kito?.. Are you ok?.." I smiled lightly, holding her hand and resting the other onto her face.
"I'm alright.. Are you ok though?" I can sense as she was trying to look away, nodding her head as I could feel a wet substance, a tear. I knew she was lying of how her eyes began to shake. I sigh, knowing that ever since recent events and her closest friend disappearing, that she's been unsettled.. No, damaged more. I then held her close to me, holding her tightly as I brushed my hand across her soft, short hair as I looked out the homeroom windows.
"Everything.. Will be alright in the end.." the words that left my mouth didn't feel confident at all but, what else could I say or do? I know everything has been falling apart. She knows. Everyone knows. But.. What else. What else could we really say or do. Besides, she doesn't need any more doubt she's pushing onto herself. This would have to do.. Even if it probably does seem pathetic to say.
Sudden yelling occured which struct the whole homeroom, including Rosaria, my girlfriend, to a sudden tension as the teacher quickly ran out to check the unexpected situation. I could hear everyone talking about it, making theories about it being current events or something similar. Though I blanked out from everyone else voices as I could hear yelling from whoever seemed to be closest to the door during the situation, stuff like "Get em'!" quickly changing into "oh god get off me!" where it gets to the point of not even understanding anymore. Announcer then suddenly goes off as a lady says:
"This is a code Red. I repeat, a code Red. Stay inside the classrooms until further notice."
Everyone then suddenly grew quiet, as you could sense most the tension turning into fear. No one even dared to move. I looked over to see Rosaria, now trembling with complete fear. I held her more close to me, even tightened a little to hopefully help her calm down as I then feel as if I was shaking just as she was.
Everything grew silent. Not even the noises are coming from the hall. I began to take back my words at this point. As much as I wish to comfort her, I couldn't. Even I was full of fear.
A sudden loud gunshot was heard, echoing through the halls. Then there was a couple more. Everything went back silent. Everyone was frozen. No one knew what was going on, but it feels as if at this point, no one even wants to know.
Everything just stopped until some time later (5 minutes probably but, no one kept track really), a man, a soldier probably, announced in the speakers:
"Due to recent events, school will be over with today. There will be no worries, we've handled the situation. Stay safe."
Sudden cheering burts out from other rooms, even some kids here were pretty excited. Though, most, including Rosaria and I, were terrified but, confused. We made our way out the door, waiting for my brother Angelo as we sat by a nearby tree. I was tempted to say a joke or, literally do anything to make her smile but, I figure that wouldn't do much. So, in attempt, made her a paper origami heart and threw it onto her lap. She looked up in confusion as I smiled gently. She smiled back, but quickly faded as she leaped onto me, holding me tightly as I felt tears begin to hit my shirt. She was more than just in fear back there, she was traumatized. I feel like an idiot for realizing how much she needed me back there and all I did was.. Nothing basically. I held her tightly into my arms, trying to calm her down as I then see my brother at the corner of my eye walking up to us.
"Kito, there was blood in the hallway. Gunshot and blood. There was screaming about someone biting someone. Something is wrong big time." Angelo said as I got up and helped Rosaria up, she then growing back into dramatization as I glared at him.
"Kito!! I'm serious!! Something is wrong big time!!"
"I know, but, is now perfect time to point it out?" Angelo looks over at Rosaria, who is now pretending to seem as if nothing could bother her.
Angelo sighs and begins to walk, as me and Rosaria follow.
~
As me and Rosaria head towards her house while Angelo waits a block behind us, she suddenly stops, facing at me. Her hair appears to cover her eyes. I brushed my hands on her hair to see her eyes to only be stunned that there were tears. She then spoke, it felt as she was hesitant to even complete her sentence.
"I... My parents were thinking... About moving more at the northeast where it seems there is more protection and such.. And just... They're thinking about going soon."
I completely froze, only letting out one sentence.
"How.. Soon?.."
She looked down as her hair covered her eyes again.
"Soonish.. Really soonish... They believe.. It's best for the family. For me.. Well, until this whole thing blows over at least.." She looked up, all sudden surprised as she began to wipe off my own tears.
"Like you said.. Right?.. Everything will be alright in the end.."
But everything didn't feel alright..
