If there's one thing I learned at being Clairemont High, was that gossip was very much important. Everyone gossiped: the students, the teachers, hell even the lunch lady. I never thought that I was interesting enough to be the talk of the town, yet once again my naivety strikes. Ever since the school reopened, everyone's been buzzing about Vic's party (if he found out about this, his ego will inflate, but it was pretty fun) and that we're dating. I can't even count how many people stopped me and asked if we were dating. By the end of second period, I was fed up. "I swear to God, if someone asks me if Vic and I are dating, someone's going to end up in the hospital," I threatened under my breath.

"Hey, in our defense, this is a rare moment," Alex defended himself. I rolled my eyes and got up shoved my notebook in my backpack, following Alex out of third period. "Vic's definitely not the one to hang out outside his group. Besides, you two were dancing together."

"So? We danced together, big whoop. What's the big deal?" I questioned.

Alex sighed and stopped in the middle of the hallway, looking at me. "Dude, you've been here since, what like, mid September and midterms are coming soon. I'd thought you'd understand the school dynamics by now," he sighed and rolled his eyes. "Vic has never had any interest in anyone before. Never kissed someone, never fucked anyone, none of that. All the sudden, you pop out of the blue and he looks at you like like he's ready to pin you to the ground, rip your clothes and fuck you till you're unconscious. Besides, we saw you get out of Vic's car this morning. You were holding hands with him, Kellin. Holding hands. Why wouldn't the school talk?"

I blushed and looked away. How I wanted to deny that statement so badly, but it was true. Every word. After what had happened at the woods that night, I started clinging on to Vic. I suddenly lost the capability to walk alone at night, scared that there was something lurking in the shadows just waiting to tear me apart. I grew vulnerable, and Vic knew it. He didn't say anything, but he did what he could to put me at ease. I even slept in the same bed as him and cuddled with him. I slept in one of his dress shirts to bed that were two sizes larger so it ended up looking like a dress on me, not that neither of us minded. And when he offered to give me a ride to school, I accepted it. I didn't even realize that we were holding hands until Jaime (I finally remembered his name) pointed it out, teasing us relentlessly. "Can we please change the topic? something that doesn't have to do with my so-called romance with King Asshat?"

We walked into Spanish and sat in the back row. Immediately, my nose caught scent of something familiar. Like a piece of Michigan. next to the window I spotted someone resting their head against the desk, but couldn't get a good look at their face since their attention was face outside the window. Just by his scent, I knew it was a guy.

"Ooh, are you cheating on your boyfriend, Kellin?" Alex teased.

"How many times must I tell you that there is nothing going on between Vic and I?" I seethed. I wanted to punch that little smirk off of Alex's face. For the rest of class, I didn't really pay attention to the video. I was too deep in my mind about Vic. I mean, yeah he's handsome and he's a lot stronger than I anticipated despite his height, but that doesn't mean I like him in any sort of way. He just doesn't strike my fancy.

'Uh-huh, right. Because sleeping on someone else's bed and kissing them doesn't mean anything,' I thought to myself.

I sighed and just spaced out. When the bell rang, I filed out with the rest of the class and headed over to the cafeteria. The unwavering looks people gave me were unsettling, but I handed with worse. A hand fell on my shoulders and I thought it was Vic, so I turned around. I froze, not really believing what I saw.

"J-Justin?"

Justin smiled and walked over to me, but I quickly backed away from him. "Aw, come on, Kellin, don't tell me you don't miss me. We've been apart for what, almost two months now and you're going to tell me you don't miss me?" Justin questioned. I couldn't answer, still in shock. "I see you're still shocked." He smirked at me and kissed me cheek. Only then did I snap back to reality.

"What are you doing here? Why are you here?" I demanded.

"Well, I-"

"Kellin!"

I felt a pair of hands around my waist and pulled me close to a hard chest. Vic rested his head on my shoulder and growled, loud enough for me to hear. "Who the fresh meat and why did he kiss you? I'm the only one who's allowed to do that!" he snapped. I gulped and glanced in between them. I bit my lip and stopped my trembling as best as I could.

"This is Justin Hills, my... ex-boyfriend."
