I sat on my bed just staring blankly at the wall. I heard a knock on my door and remained still and silent. My roommate , Kelsey walked in.

"Hey Lis, just come to check on ya. You've been in you're room for three weeks now, its just not like you. You okay?" She asked. Kelsey knew about Jake and I and the break up. She was a really sweet and a PK. I always loved just being in the room with her because she always made me smile. But not today. Today nothing could make me smile. Because three weeks ago my life ended. Three weeks ago my heart shattered, for the second time in my life. A few tears rolled down my cheek at the thought of Jake. But I wiped them so Kelsey wouldn't see.

I love Kelsey and she's a great person so instead of lying and saying 'I'm fine' I said "I'll be okay..." and then whispered, "one day..." And she just gave a sort of sympathetic smile and left.

I totally understood her concern. I mean, she was right. Everyday after classes I go straight too my room, aside from classes and necessities, I don't leave it. I had no reason to without Jake. Overdramatic much? I don't know. I just know that Jake was everything to me.

I decided that I was done wallowing and if Jake was gonna be free so was I. I straightened my hair and pinned it back. I pulled on some black leggings with lime green lace and jean skirt. With a black shirt and neon peace signs on it. I stopped to talk to Kelsey before I left.

"Hey Kelsey," I said smiling at her.

"Hey, your talking again?" she asked flashing her signature toothy smile.

"Yea, I'm done with this. I deserve to live. I'm in college for God Sakes!" I said to her.

"Your dang right you are!" She said and hugged me. The winked at me before I headed for the door.

I went to the mall. I didn't go there often but I needed new clothes and some school supplies. I went in Aero to pick out some clothes and my jaw dropped when I went to check out. But sopped dead in my tracks when I saw the cashier.

He was gorgeous. And strangely familiar. His eyes were hazel and his lashes were long and full. His hair, long and brown. His bone structure was perfect for his body. And his lips were... No! No that is just wrong Lissa!

I lowered my eyes, he was wearing a sleeveless shirt that showed off his perfect biceps.

"Are... you okay?" the cashier said. I snapped out of my trance and he was looking at me like I was crazy.

"I...um, Do I...know you?" was all I could say.

He laughed and bagged my things and I paid him. "I don't know. Do you have a name?" he asked handing me my bags.

"I'm...Alyssa, you?" I said back trying not to hyperventilate by concentrating somewhere other than his gorgeous face.

He stopped and his eyes widened. He stared at me looking more shocked than when I saw him. "A--Aly." There was only one person in the world who called me Aly.

"Lucas..."

Just want to clear some things up. Jake and Alyssa are both in college and yes they attend the same college.

By the way, don't hate on Jake just yet because there's a lot more to the story haha so you'll have to keep reading!
