Mother
I remember your tears, my tears
I could feel them in your words
Hearing them as every drop of rain hit the ground
Alone, I feel your loneliness
Surrounding you like an aura
drawing a breath of grey
The tiredness sinks in as tiny creases on your withered face
Even when you smile your eyes remain solemn, deep and heavy with weight
Baring on yours shoulders it is hard to walk alone, is it not?
To feel the numb emptiness within your chest and the absence on the other side of your bed
What is a burden if not to be shared?
Mother
I remember your strength
Your refusal to break down, falling in scattered pieces
Moving on
Walking beyond the days of rain and depression
Moving towards those where you cast your own sunlight
Leaving behind the darkness, into the light
Mother
Magnificent, beautiful , strong and flawed
No one is perfect
Everyone is allowed their moment of weakness
For we arise stronger than before
With ever tear you let go
And with every smile you move on
In your own strength and that of God you heal
Mother
I know nought of anyone else quite like you
Perhaps they exist, perhaps not
Either way it means nothing
Because it is everything in you that gives me the unshaken, unwavering confidence in you
To call you
My Mom
