"Alisson!!! You're going to be late for your interview!" My roommate yelled. "I'm coming just hold on!" I yelled back. I was wearing a snug white skirt, a black blouse, my hair was in a bun, my lipstick was red, my smokey eye brought out my icy blue eyes, and I had my black heels on. It was my twenty sixth birthday. I had to go to an interview for an art company. I grabbed my phone and portfolio then ran downstairs. Susan, my roommate, was standing at the door with her hands on her hips. "Finally." She said, opening the door and walking out. I sighed and went to the car with her.
Half way there I began worrying. Susan could see it in my face. "You'll do fine." She smiled and squeezed my shoulder, then immediately put it back on the steering wheel. Once there, she dropped me off at the front doors and wished me good luck. I walked in and went to the front desk. "Hello, how may I help you?" An older woman asked. "Yes, um, I am here to see Mr. Nicklas." I said. "Name please." She said. "Alisson Rose." I said. "Ah, yes, I will inform him that you are here. Please take a seat in the upstairs lobby." She smiled and pointed at the escalator. I thanked her and went up the escalator, then sat down on a bright white couch.
"Ms. Rose, I presume?" A muscular man appeared in front of me. "Yes? Mr. Nicklas, I presume?" I smiled, standing up. "I like you, walk with me; and call me Adam." He smiled. "Alright." I said, slowly. We walked down a hall and to the first door on the left. He opened the door for me as I stepped in and shut it once he came in. "What art do you have for me today, Ms. Rose?" He smiled and sat behind a desk. I sat in one of the chairs in front of it and opened my portfolio. I showed him my drawings and he looked at them in awe. "These... these are very good." He stuttered. My phone pinged and I looked at it. It was Dominic.
He was coming home! To visit for a while of course. He said he would be here in....THREE HOURS!!!! I have so much to get done! "Ms. Rose?" Adam's voice broke my train of thought. "Yes?" I asked quickly. "Do you need to leave?" Adam asked. "Um, not just yet." I smiled. "Alright, well let's get straight to business. I love the sketches, the detail is superb. I believe that you would make an amazing edition to our team." He smiled, handing the portfolio back. "Thank you, Mr. Nicklas...I mean Adam" I smiled and shook his hand. "You are free to go. Thank you." He smiled and I left the room.
I called Susan and told her I needed her to drive my car to the building. She came an hour later and I told her we only had two hours left. "Two hours left until what?" She asked. "Dominic is coming to visit for a while. DON't ruin it." I joked. She smiled and laughed. I drove us to our apartment and began cleaning. I ran the vacuum, dusted, cleaned up the guest room, cleaned my room, and began cooking when I heard the doorbell ring. I squealed and ran to the door, swinging it open but only to reveal my friend, Froy Gutierrez. "What do you want?" I growled. "Just came over to say hi. Is that chili that I smell." He smiled, walking in. I shut the door and continued stirring the pot of chili.
An hour after Froy got here, I heard the door open. "Hello?" My most favorite voice called. "DOMINIC!!!!!!!!" I screamed and ran, jumping into his arms hugging him. He picked me up and spun me around, hugging me tightly. He sat me down but I still didn't let go. "I've missed you so much." He pulled away from the hug. "I missed you more, especially those eyes." I smiled, looking into the blue eye and brown eye. He smirked and sniffed the air. "Do I smell your famous chili?" He grinned. "Yes you do." I smiled and went back to the kitchen to stir the pot. "Hey, I meant to text you about this but...my girlfriend wants to see where I am staying, could I bring her over sometime?" He asked, looking through the fridge. "Yeah...sure." I frowned, looking at the chili.
