Chapter 2

 Kristen’s POV:

“Excuse me but I was here first.” I saw Luke Cruz trying to occupy the table. He didn’t say a word.

“Excuse me are you deaf?” I was pissed off because he didn’t answer. Luke gave me a cold stare.

“Huh? I was the one to occupy the table first.” He said.

“Correction I was the one to occupy this table first.” I gave him a cold look.

“Are you messing with-“ Luke was interrupted.

“Kristen!” Vanessa called me.

“Vanessa, what are you doing?” I said.

“I’m sorry Luke you can have the table.” Vanessa told Luke.

Vanessa was scared. I know she is trying to protect me. I can’t accept that Luke sees me that I’m weak. Still I had no choice but to follow Vanessa.

“You can have the table. I don’t have the energy to eat here because of this pathetic girl.” He said.

Excuse me, me pathetic? Is he trying to insult me?

Luke gave me a cold and left.

“Hay naku! Kris, what are you thinking?!” Vanessa told me.

“What? I have to do something. He is trying to occupy our table.” I told her.

“Kris, we can find another table.”

“Tsk. Can we just eat?” I want to get over what happened with Luke.

“Okay. By the way, where’s Mike?” she said.

“Vanessa, you can’t say a word to Mike what happened with Luke.” I said.

“About what?” Mike came out of nowhere.

“Mike, it’s nothing” I said.

“Kris, I know you’re lying. You’re my bestfriend we need to be honest with each other.” He said.

I told Mike everything what happened a while ago.

“Good thing he didn’t do something to hurt you” he said.

“By the way, you were going to tell me something.” I said.

“Ahhhh… I need your help.” He said.

Help? Why? What kind of help?

“Why do you need my help?” I asked.

Mike drank his calamansi juice.

“Kris, I need your help because I’m gonna court someone.” He said.

Wait! Is Mike in love? When?

“And who’s the girl” I asked.

“Si Abigail.” he said.

“Huh? Si Abigail?! Bakit si Abigail?” Vanessa interrupted.

“Yeah, why Abigail?” I said while eating my burger.

“I like Abigail because I have this feeling that there is something different about her.” He explained.

“Sus! The only thing I know about Abigail that she has a crush on Luke.” Vanessa said.

“I don’t care she has a crush on Luke, I just want to court her whether you like it or not.” He talked aloud.

“Shhhh. Keep your voice down Mike.” I whispered.

“I’m sorry Kris. Will you help me?” he said.
