The Real Heir

Chapter 4

Then, quietly everyone gets a chance to read it. When it comes to Lucas, he realizes that Riley saw him storm out of Destiny's bedroom. He turns bright red and passes it to his brother. Derrick seems to notice Lucas' turning-into-a-tomato-face because he lunges toward him, grabs him by the collar, and demands, "What do you know?! Tell me everything!"

Lucas gulps, "Everything?!"

Destiny looks up at the scene in front of her, "What's going on?"

Then, for some sort of reason she slides to the ground and darkness takes over.

As soon as Destiny regained consciousness, yet again, she jerked upright and smacked her forehead against someone else's.

"Ouch! Ouch!" they both say, yet again.

She falls back down rubbing her forehead to see that Riley was leaning over her doing the same. She springs upright again, but this time she scoots back as far away from him as possible. Riley starts reaching toward her, decides against it, and walks out the door without saying anything.Destiny covers her face and cries. Derrick along with everybody else comes rushing through the door. Unexpectedly, Lucas comes forward and wraps her in a hug. She stiffens up.

"I'm so sorry," he says, "This is all my fault. I don't know what I was thinking ... You probably don't even want to see me right now." He steps back, bows very low, and then runs out the door. Destiny frowns, startled, "What's wrong with him?!"

Everyone suddenly looks interested in the ceiling, the floor, the carpet, the lamp, the bed, and everything else other than the princess.

"Well," Derrick starts, "Umm." Destiny gives him the evil eye which makes him blurt out the whole thing. Destiny is his favorite sister and everyone knows that, so instead of stalling he quickly says, "Well, I mean, didn't you know?! Lucas likes you ... and I am out."

With that Derrick races out. The others get confused and turn to look at Destiny to see that she has her hair in front of her eyes, which I should say, she looks terrifying. The others slowly back away. The only one who was not really scared was Lillian. She bravely steps forward and grabs her sister by the shoulder, "I know that you and Riley like each other and you've no feelings toward Lucas, but at least try to be nice to him, won't ya?"

Now, the others are terrified, I mean, Lillian has never been nice to Destiny and ... The door to the room suddenly bursts open. A very disheveled, and when I say disheveled that would be an understatement, Queen Elizabeth was standing on the other side of the door. She takes in the scene before her and says, "Please hurry, the King is not well."

Now, when I say "everything was chaotic" I mean "everything was chaotic". People rushing through the hallways to get medicine for the king and such. As soon as the group with the princess heard that the King was on his deathbed, she rushed to his side. Destiny crumbled to the ground with despair, "I'm sorry, Father. I couldn't do anything. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry."

She kept on repeating this phrase, "I'm sorry", over and over and over again. The old King couldn't stand to see his daughter be so spiritless. As Destiny grew up, he noticed that she always blamed herself for everything wrong in the world.

She always knew what people wanted, thought the dying King, She looked out for others, too. She shouldn't ever learn about the curse on her.

King Albert tries to talk and succeeds, "My heir will be Princess Destiny."

Everyone freezes and looks at the King, who in return says, "A good leader needs to have a good heart ... Cough ... And I'm not saying ... Cough ... that my son doesn't have one ... Cough ... All I'm saying is that my eldest daughter deserves to have ... Cough ... to have a chance to rule the universe."
