-Chapter5-

"That was very impressive Livy! Your storytelling skills are immaculate." Qudii, one of the Instructors at the Storytelling Skill Group, wagged his tail as he complimented Livy.

"Thank you so much, Qudii. My one friend's little sister, Kalyn, always told me I was the best storyteller in our district, though I never believed her. But Trace still had to drag me over here, to be honest... I was scared about actual feedback from real storytellers."

"You are a real storyteller, Livy. I'm betting little Kalyn was right." Qudii smiled. "I heard you had a bit of a fall during the races. Are you alright?" His eyes drifted to her wrapped leg.

"Oh, uh, yeah! I'm great, actually. The wolf who raised me, Lucia, was our District's healer. She taught me lots of basic healing techniques." Livy leaned down and licked her leg nervously.

"That's awesome! You should go to the Healing Skill Group after this. You can, after all, visit as many of the Skill Groups as you want. And I would highly recommend checking out as many as you can."

"I think I will. Thanks for the word of advice!" Livy grinned, then backed away as Qudii began getting things around for the next Storyteller Tryout. There were only Two Instructors at the StoryTelling Skill Group, and only around four wolves had dropped by so far, one of them being Livy.

Livy couldn't help but beam as she trotted cheerfully towards the Healing Skill Group. Qudii's approval was definitely very comforting. He had even told her she had Kingdom Storyteller Potential!

As she neared the Healing Skill Group station, she heard her name called out above the noisy chatter of the crowd. "Livy!" Livy turned to look, and saw Kira racing towards her with Trace in tow.

"You won't believe what happened, Livy!" Kira seemed to be nearly exploding from her pelt with excitement. "I was at the Fighting follow up, and Grove came by and said he was super impressed and thought I had an awesome chance of getting into General Lusa's army!"

Kira danced in a circle. Livy giggled. She had never seen her friend so happy. "Well, I just got told that I have amazing potential as a Storyteller, maybe even Kingdom a grade one!" Livy felt her own heart leaping with thrill. Lucia had been right. This was good for her. It would all be worth it.

Trace sighed quietly, standing awkwardly at the edge of the conversation. Livy glanced over at her, noticing for the first time how quiet her normally very talkative friend was. It was as if Trace and Kira had swapped places.

"What about you Trace? Any good news?" Trace jerked her head up, looking panicked for a moment. "Uh, not yet! I've still got a few things to try out though!" Trace's lighthearted voice and smile seemed very forced.

Livy nodded, but wasn't convinced. Kira didn't seem to even  notice Trace's strange behavior, and continued to dance around in place. Livy couldn't help but laugh, and decided to drop the idea that something might be bothering Trace. She was probably just tired.

Mitch groaned and collapsed onto the ground. He had had more than enough wolf contact for one day. He rolled onto his side. He had gotten some good reports, though. All the Instructors he talked to tried to nudge him towards Fighting, but he refused each time. Once they got that out of the way, they had questioned him about certain things, tested his skills for other things, and then told him that he'd find out his results in a few days.

The one Instructor had told him that he had pretty good potential as a Scout. He was fast, he was smart, and he could deliver messages. Simple. He even knew basic code, though he refused to disclose exactly how he had learned it.
