Books saved my soul
They saved my entire being
They filled my youth with words
They filled my empty cup with wits
Some were fast paced
Some were begrudgingly slow
Many were unbearable
I can count which I favoured
Books saved me from boredom
Saved me from people's stupidity
From them I learned a lot
From them I got my smarts
May it be nonfiction or mythology
