The next day, the news hit that Sofia quit the play because of Amber, Hildegard, and Clio. Since Sofia won't be playing the Evil Queen anymore, Princess Kari was recast as the Evil Queen. Nobody was happy with Hildegard, Clio, and Amber.
"How could you do this?" James asked his twin sister angrily.
"I didn't mean to tell Sofia that she wasn't the right person to play the Evil Queen," Amber said.
"No, we're just surprised that she wanted that part—and we were even more shocked that she got it," Hildegard chimed in.
"well, you shouldn't have been, and now Sofia has given up something she wanted because you had to be careless with the words you released from your mouths," James glared. "We were all looking forward to having Sofia as our Evil Queen."
Everyone else agreed with James. Sofia quit the play, and it was all Amber, Hildegard, and Clio's fault. Even with a replacement for the role, nobody was happy because they all wanted to see Sofia as the Evil Queen.
Hugo was in the dressing room, sewing Kari's Evil Queen costume. Sofia didn't have to worry about rehearsing anymore, so she wanted to join her worried boyfriend in the dressing room.
"Sofia, I heard the bad news," Hugo frowned. "What happened?"
"Amber and her friends don't want me as the Evil Queen because I'm not the role person for the role, and they said I'd embarrass them," Sofia revealed.
"They said that?" Hugo gasped.
"Yes, and they're trying to defend themselves," Sofia said.
"Amber is your sister, and she should be happy for you," Hugo huffed. "She and her posse just can't keep their mouths shut."
"They just don't know how to be happy for me," Sofia sighed.
"Someday they will be," Hugo said. "Do you want to help me sew Kari's costume?"
"Sure," Sofia nodded.
That night, at Hugo's palace, he told his family what happened with Sofia.
"There go Amber and her posse again," Axel groaned. "Do they really have to ruin everything for her?"
"They don't understand Sofia's point of view," Hugo declared.
"It's hard to know what someone else is feeling," King Garrick said. "Some lessons have to be learned the hard way."
"If the recent events don't teach Amber and her friends how to be happy for Sofia, I don't know what will," Hugo shrugged.
"Some people never learn, baby bro," Axel told him.
Axel was right—Amber was better at learning lessons than Hildegard. Hugo wondered if those girls would learn this lesson.
