Later, Sofia met up with Hugo, still wearing her costume.
"That was awesome, Sofia!" Hugo smiled, hugging his girlfriend. "You were the best Evil Queen I'd ever seen. You undeniably stole the show."
"I couldn't agree more, Prince Hugo," Miss Elodie smiled. "She was the most exciting Evil Queen in any Snow White story."
Everyone agreed that Sofia was a great Evil Queen. Amber was impressed by her sister's performance, and so was Clio. Hildegard was a little jealous that Sofia had stolen the show.
"She really was a great Evil Queen," Amber remarked.
"The best—I wonder what the real Evil Queen would say about this," Clio agreed.
"I wish we hadn't underestimated her," Amber sighed. "We totally owe her an apology."
"Yeah, let's go and apologize," Clio suggested.
"Do we have to?" Hildegard muttered. She was jealous that Sofia had stolen the spotlight, but the complaint got Hildegard dirty looks from Amber and Clio. "Okay, I'm coming."
Amber, Hildegard, and Clio went up to Sofia.
"Sofia, you did a great job tonight," Clio smiled.
"Thanks," Sofia smiled back.
"Sofia, we're sorry for saying that you weren't the right person to play the Evil Queen—and I'm especially sorry I said you'd embarrass us, but you never did," Amber apologized. "You really had what it took."
"Yeah, we should've respected your choice to play this part," Clio said.
Amber and Clio turned to Hildegard, waiting for her to be nice to Sofia. Hildegard wasn't sure if she believed Sofia should be congratulated on playing the Evil Queen, but seeing Amber and Clio staring at her gave her no choice.
"You certainly made a beautiful Evil Queen, Sofia," Hildegard shrugged, trying to hide her anger and jealousy.
"Thanks," Sofia smiled. "You all did a great job yourselves."
Sofia and Hugo exited the auditorium with their families. Amber and James were in their usual clothes while Sofia was in her costume.
"You certainly did a beautiful job on that costume, baby bro," Axel remarked. "Green is the perfect color for the Evil Queen, hence her envy of Snow White."
"Thanks," Hugo smiled. "I knew green would be a great color."
"Sofia, because you did a great job as the villain, do you think you'll be playing the villain in future plays?" Amber asked.
"I don't know, Amber," Sofia shrugged. "But whatever role I play, I know I'll have fun."
"I'll respect your choice in roles from now on," Amber smiled.
"Thanks," Sofia grinned.
"If the real Evil Queen had been watching tonight, who knows what she'd say or do about Sofia?" Hugo giggled.
Everyone laughed at Hugo's remark. Amber, Hildegard, and Clio learned a lesson: it's always best to respect people's choices and not say anything rude about that. Now that Sofia fulfilled her goal to play a villain, she wasn't quite sure what role she'd play in the next play—but she knew she'd have fun.
