Mutt and Indiana look at the alien pictures that are worrying them. The ground begins to shake and they become very worried. The alien spaceship appears and sucks up everything, even Mutt and Indiana. The spaceship takes Indiana and Mutt to the lost city of Akator. Once they arrive, they realize that other people have also been captured by the aliens. They are all locked in prison cells and cannot escape. The prisons had lazers that would shoot them if they try to escape. All of the prisoners were very scared and did not know if the aliens would let them live or die. After a few hours of sitting in their cells, Mutt and Indiana saw someone coming. He was very tall, thin, and had a very bright, large head shaped the same as the crystal skull they found in the burial caves. They immediately knew that it was the alien chief! He began to use ways that he could communitcate without speaking a single word. He shows Indiana a challenge. If Indiana can bring back one lost hidden crystal skull, the Alien Chief would set everyone free, including Mutt and Indiana. The only problem was the mission was very dangerous! The Alien Chief possesed a map with clues to the hidden skull but he had been unable to find it himself. Indiana and Mutt decided to accept the challenge, even though it meant hidden traps and even a snake pit that represented death.
Indiana quickly recognized the location of the skull on the map. They gathered their supplies and took off into the dark jungle. It wasn't long until a storm began to blow through. The path began to get so wet and muddy that they slid down a hill into a pool of quicksand! They both began to sink. Indy began to shout, "Hang on, Mutt. I will figure out a way to get us out." Indy quickly grabbed his whip and began to lassoed a tree branch. He pulled himself up and turned around saw Mutt was sinking up to his stomach. Mutt was trying frantickly to get out but couldn't. Just in the nick of time, Indy was able to grab his hand and lift Mutt out of the quicksand. "Thanks, that was a close one", said Mutt. They find the cave within a few hours and are able to avoid several dangerous hidden traps. They outran a bunch of arrows from a trap and also endured a nest of tarantula spiders. They get the skull and began to make their way out of a maze of traps. Just as they are about to leave they cave, they suddenly stop and look down. Its a giant snake pit filled with thousands of snakes. Indy sais, "Snakes! Why did it have to be snakes?" Luckily, they see a small wooden rafter that he could use his whip to swing across. Indy made it across but the rafter snaped in half just as Mutt was swinging across. Indy knew he had to go in the pit and save Mutt. Indiana was scared beyond belief. But he began to lower himself down in the pit. Indiana grabbed his whip that was laying on the ground and sees a statue that they can climb back up to the top. They both narrowly escape getting bit. They find the exit to the cave and make their way back to the Alien spaceship.
Indiana presents they crystal skull to the Alien Chief. He was happy and grateful for its return. He needed it to take it back to their home planet. The Alien Chief decided that because of Indiana and Mutt's bravery and effort, that he should free all the captured people. The Alien Chief realized that the humans were smarter and more caring than he thought.
