Forty-five minutes.

That's how long it took me to drive from the house to the place I was told I'd be working at. World Corp is known as a large company with many locations throughout America, as well as the rest of the world, yet the building I was greeted by was a two story, brick building that was placed between a Subway and a frozen yogurt business. It looked old and run down but the name World Corp was hanging on the front of the building, letting me know it was the right address.

Hesitantly I opened the front door and walked in. The sound of a wind-chime echoed through the room that was filled with lounge chairs and a single desk, a single desk that had Jessica sitting behind it. Seeing a familiar face made me smile.

"Good morning," I exclaimed as I walked up to the desk.

Jessica stood up quickly, knocking over a water bottle that was left open. Water splattered the floor and I tried my best not to laugh as she quickly tried to clean it up. In an attempt to help her I pulled the few loose napkins I had floating around my purse out and placed them on the water.

"I'm sorry; I'm a huge mess sometimes. I'm so happy to see you. If you go up those stairs you'll be where all the offices are." Jessica didn't say anything else after she flashed me a smile.

Out of courtesy, I gave her a smile back. Slowly standing up, I turned towards the stairs that had been sitting to the right the entire time. It took a lot of arguing in my head to decide to walk up the stairs that led to something I was not expecting. At the top of the stairs I was greeted by a room filled with half walls that had people on other sides of them, sitting at their desks as they worked. Not sure where to go, I walked over to the only woman I saw.

"Excuse me," I softly spoke.

The woman let out a quick scream, placing her hand over her chest as she tried to catch her breath. "Jesus, you scared the goose pimples right off my body!" Her voice was pleasant; it reminded me of my mom.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Who gets scared by someone saying excuse me?

"It's okay, just, talk louder next time. Excuse me for asking, but, why are you up here? This isn't exactly a department store," she exclaimed as she looked me up and down.

She was definitely judging what I was wearing. Compared to the clothing everyone else had on, I couldn't help but feel under-dressed. However, my jeans didn't have any holes and my blue blouse was large enough that you couldn't really tell what my body figure really was.

"Today is my first day."

The woman slowly stood up from her desk, not in any rush. "I'm Lacy, everyone here calls me Dallas. That's Jared," she exclaimed as she pointed to a man who was in the middle of popping a pimple. "That's Will," she said as she pointed to a man who stood at almost seven feet tall. "That over there is Tony, he's a lunatic," she said, pointing at a man who had his hair dyed black, piercings covering his face, and a pentagram tattooed on his neck.

"I'm not a lunatic, you just think I worship the devil," he retorted in a deep voice.

"Worship the devil? Sweetie, you are the devil. Anywho, that over there is Frank, it's not his real name but that's what we call him," she stated as she pointed at an older, Asian man. He gave me a quick smile before going back to what he was doing. "And lastly, that's Chris. He is very good at what he does but he sucks at everything else."

The man she pointed at looked a little older than me and he was very attractive. He had blonde hair, blue eyes and a jaw line that could probably cut diamonds.

"What is that supposed to mean?" The one she called Chris said as he shot up from his chair.

"It means you ask stupid questions and say things you shouldn't. Anyways, the only other person who works in this office is the President, but he avoids us at all costs. Just know if he's out in the open around us it's because we did something wrong. So, tell us, who are you?"
