I hear loud screams surrounding me. The air is heavy and i find it hard to breathe. I'm lying somewhere but can't figure out where since my eyes are closed and it seems that they won't open any time soon. I try to sit up quickly feeling a sharp pain in my head. I feel the floor with my hands and by the touch I can tell it's a tiled floor, I feel a wall behind me, I crawl backwards so that my back is leaning on it. I rub my eyes with my hands, opening them slowly.
The first thing I see are my hands. They are covered in black and red dirt. I watch them for a while and I realize that it 's not dirt that it's covering my hands but blood and ash. starting to freak out I look around me, I'm in the kitchen of my old house that's being eaten by flames. The smoke of the flames gets heavier by the minute making it harder to breathe.
I get up slowly from the floor helping me with the wall. All this smoke makes me feel lightheaded but I have to hold on until I get out of here. I cough heavily while I make my way through the kitchen trying to reach the door that leads to the garden. I pass the dining table and get past the counter that is in the middle of the room I reach the door and look back one last time before I open it. The whole house is devastated, the flames are burning it down, parts of the ceiling are blocking the door to the living room . Through the flames and the smoke I make out three human figures and there is where I realize it's my family. I hear coughing coming from one of the figures. He starts to crawl towards me
''This is all your fault Indianna
'' he says, his voice is very deep but scratchy at the same time. ''You did this'' he keeps coming towards me repeating the same two phrases over and over again. I try to open the door but it won't budge. I start to get frantic with the door handle. He reaches me and grabs my ankle. he pulls at it making me fall, I scream and the door magically opens. I start to kick his hand from my ankle.
''Leave me alone! This isn't my fault! Who are you!?' I scream and cry at the same time. After some kicks his hand lets go of my ankle, I get up quickly and start to run as fast as I can. I stop when i finally feel safe. I look around to see where I am and I'm in the middle of the road in my neighborhood. Everything is on fire, Houses, trees, cars literally everything. All you can hear is screaming and the crackling off the fire. I bring my hands to my mouth and start to sob hard. I fall to my knees. I did all of this. It is all my fault.~

I wake sometime at crack of dawn. It's still dark outside, with cracks of red and orange seeping into the horizon as the sky prepares itself for the sun. I had woken with a start. Sweat covered my face and neck; my hair sticking to my skin. My heart hammered and my hands shook. Out of fear my head whipped around the room, as if I'm looking for an evil demon or something else that had scared me. I take in the familiar view of my bedroom, and let out a breath of relief. "It was only a dream" I whisper, "it was only a dream". I look around the room, frowning slightly, before I flop back down in the bed.
It was close to dawn, but it was still dark. I don't return to sleep, I just stay lying on my bed for a few hours. Someone knockes on my door, waking me up from my reverie.
"Come in," I called, still looking outside. The door opened slowly and my mom's head popped inside. She looked concerned and worried. She came in and obviously, she changed into something more comfortable. Her hair was in a messy bun and she wore a white loose shirt and gray sweats.
"Honey, you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just mad at dad." I sighed.
"You have every right to be. I can't believe he married a skank." My mother spat and shivered in disgust. "I can't believe he chose her over his own daughter." I stayed quite the whole time my mom ranted about the reasons she divorced him. "He was selfish. He wanted things to go his way. Gosh, when is he ever going to learn?" My mom just kept going on and on until I got up and started unpacking my clothes. She watched me curiously and started helping me unpack my stuff. It was silent and I appreciated it. I didn't feel like talking about my dad anymore. What's done is done.
"I feel like a horrible parent. I mean, my daughter is not happy. What's wrong with me?" She said upset. She wiped her tears away. I felt a pang in my chest. She thought this was her fault. "Let me make it up to you. Spa day Saturday."
"Mom, it's not your fault. And I'd love to." I sighed and hugged her once more. She looked excited and I smiled. I missed these moments with my mom. The moments where it was just the two of us, either shopping, relaxing, getting our nails done or just talking. She always found a way to make my day.~I told you so.~
-Shut up Sky.-
~I told you he'd abandon you but you refused to listen~I block Sky out of my mind as my mother kisses me on the cheek, her red lipstick staining my tinted skin. She leaves as I collapse back on the bed. Feeling better I slowly drift off to sleep.
