Uriah's POV.

I wake to the smell of bacon, I look around to see that Tris is missing. I start to get worried, but stop when I hear a faint humming coming from the kitchen. I roll off of the bed and walk into the kitchen. Tris is cooking eggs and bacon on the stove. She looks up at me and smiles, I get butterflies in my stomach.

"Good morning." She says, her voice.

"Morning Tris." I say. Before I know what's happening, I wrap my arms around her waist and hug her. I know it might not seem like anything other than a friendly gesture, but it's all I can do. Right now.

"The bacon." She says, it takes me a moment to process this. When it clicks I step back.

"Oh yeah, sorry bacon." I say jokingly. She laughs, and shakes her head. She turns towards the stove and keeps cooking. She places the slightly burnt bacon and over easy eggs on shallow blue plates. She grabs two glasses and pours water in them. She sets them down at the small table, we both sit and eat.

"Do you think I should talk to Eric about getting my own apartment?" She asks and looks towards me. I don't want her to, I want her to stay with me. No. Stop it Uriah, she will never like you. I can see she wants me to say yes.

"It doesn't matter, I don't mind you living here, but if you want you can." She smiles, her smile is so cute. Stop Uriah.

"I think I will, thanks Uriah, you are just like the best ever." She gives me another hug.

Tris's POV.

I'm walking down the hall to Eric's office, when I see a dark figure at the end of the hallway.

Four.

He starts walking towards me, I run the other direction. Towards Eric's office, I just have to make it to Eric's office. It's no use he catches up to me in no time.

"Tris, I need to talk to you." I let out a half laugh, still running.

"Fuck off Four." I snap at him. He looks hurt, good. Maybe he knows the pain of being hurt but someone you used to call yours.

"I'm not leaving your side until you talk to me." He says. Good, he will be there while I ask for my own apartment. I don't say another word, we reach Eric's office. I knock, and immediately the door swings open.

"What do you want stiff?" He growls at me. He pushes me and Four inside, and closes the door. "Sit, and make this quick. I have a meeting." He snarls, again.

"I want my own apartment." I say. Four and Eric both look shocked.

"So your little relationship didn't go so well with Four eh? Figures he could never keep a girlfriend. All right, your apartment number is B13." No I don't want that one.

"Nice try, I'm not taking one next to Four." I say. Eric has a smirk on his face. "How about one next to Christina or Uriah?" I suggest.

"Why should I let you pick?" Ugh Eric.

"Well I was ranked first, I could have gotten a government job, but no I chose otherwise." His smirk falls. It turns into a frown.

"Fine, yours is B34 next to Christina's apartment. Here are your keys." He hands them to me.

"Oh and Four, I need to pick my stuff up from your apartment. I will not be moving back in." He looks hurt, at this point I really don't care. He nods. He leaves the room.

"What did the prodigy legend Four do that could be so bad?" He laughs.

"He cheated on me with a slut." I say. He laughs even harder. I walk out the door, I walk to Four's apartment.

Time lapse.

After I have everything settled into my new apartment I decide to take a nap. My apartment is just like Uriah's only it has darker black walls and it has carpet. I stare up at the flat ceiling, thinking about Uriah. Stop Tris, he doesn't like you. He's just your friend. I'm about to drift off to sleep when there's a knock at my door. I open it up, to see a smiling Uriah with dauntless cake smeared across his face. I laugh and try to stifle my laughter, but fail. He starts laughing also.

"What happened to you?" I ask.

"Food fight." He replies. I let him inside, he looks around then faces me again. "Wheres the bathroom? I'd better clean this shit off my face." He laughs, I point towards the room to the left. He walks in and closes the door. After about five minutes he comes out with a clean face. He looks so handsome. Stop Tris. "Hey I'm having a truth or dare party tonight at my place, you should come." He says. These parties are bad news, but Christina will force me to go anyways.

"Well I would say no but Chris would make me anyways." He laughs.

"Ok I'll se you at 6:00 pm tonight." He smiles and leaves my apartment. I lay down again, right at the brink of sleep someone bursts through my door.

"Tris!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wake up!!!! Truth or dare tonight, we... Have... To... Go... SHOPPING!!!!" She screams. I let out a long groan.

"Fine." She squeals very loudly.

"Let's go! Come on the party is at six!!!" She drags me out the door into the pit. The fourth store we go to Christina squeals and brings a short black dress with ruffles and gold sequins. It's pretty. "Tris! You have to try this on!" She says jumping up and down.

"Okay Chris calm down, it's just a dress." She looks at me with her mouth hung open.

"Don't you ever say that." She says it with warning in her voice, but I can tell she's joking. I hope. I grab the dress and head to the fitting room. It fits perfectly and it surprisingly looks very good on me. I walk out and Christina is on the verge of tears. "You look beautiful." She says.

Time lapse.

After we are done shopping I have the dress Christina wanted me to get, 4 inch black sparkly heels with a bow, and a red lacy set of a bra and underwear. Christina has a dress just like mine, only with silver sequins. She has the same shoes as me, she has a black set of a bra and underwear. Once we are done shopping we head back to my apartment. There Christina does my hair and makeup. She curled my hair into ringlets. She gave me a smokey eye, eyeliner, concealer, and a light lipstick. I look into the mirror. The girl I see is not me, but she is me. Tris Prior. The girl from Abnegation. The stiff. Ranked first. That is me. I turn to Chris and try to impersonate her squeal, but fail

"Oh my gosh Chris!!!!! I love it!!! Thank you so much!" She hugs me and smiles. It is 4:56 and Christina still has to get ready. I decide to go down and get early dinner. I walk into the dining hall and the room goes silent. I hear little snippets of conversations like 'is that Tris?' And 'damn' I hate having attention. I get in line to pay for my food, and a dauntless I don't recognize stands towering over top of me. "Can I help you?" I ask in an annoyed tone. He smirks. He puts his hand under my chin.

"Yes I think you could, you're really pretty." That's enough. I kick him with my shoe where the sun doesn't shine. "You bitch." He murmurs.

"Don't mess with me you prick. I was ranked first for a reason." I grab my food and sit down by my self. It's not long before Eric and Max sit down across from me. I groan. When I'm around them I feel like the word DIVERGENT is branded across my forehead. And they will see it.

"Hello Tris." Eric smiles. Not a true smile, it's clearly fake. I roll my eyes.

"What could you two possibly want." I look towards Max, because I want his response more than Eric's.

"We were wanting you to take up the position as a dauntless leader. Since you were ranked first." I would like to, but they might find out about my divergence.

"No thanks, I am currently happy with the position I hold." I stare at my food.

"Figures just like your boyfriend." Eric sneers. This snaps something.

"I am not his fucking girlfriend you ass hole! How many times do I have to say it? And why should you care anyways. Go away and let me eat by myself." I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn and see Four. He looks hurt, he is the last person I want to see right now. Something inside me snaps. I stand up and punch him straight in the face. So much trouble has been caused because of him. I don't look back, I walk straight out.
