The smoke from the fallout filled the air. He looked up into the sky to see another airship landing not to far away from him. "Im coming for you Acer, keep your eyes peeled." Kylen mumbled to himself. Kylen was crouched behind a destroyed car out of sight. From the landed ship, Talion Soldiers peered over the rubble. Kylen crouched lower and met face to face with the ground. Something caught his eye and sparked his thought. He reached down to a large rock underneath the car from the broken ground. He extended his arm and felt the heat emitting of the charred car. He secured the rock in his hand as he felt the burning of the flames crawling on his skin. His face smeared against the car side and black coal smothered his cheek. He looked over the car wreckage at the soldiers to see them confused. He wound his arm back and threw the rock as far as he could. The stone shard flew through the air and landed on something metal. He looked up and over to see it was a gas tank from a truck. Kylen took a step and heard water. He noticed the tank had busted open and fuel covered his boots. He thought fast and grabbed a stick which was wedge between two rocks. The soldiers noticed his as he grabbed the stick. One fired at him and barely missed the fuel. "Hold your fire! One of us shoots this whole area goes up in flames!" The soldier leader commanded. "Exactly my plan!" Kylen said as he stood upon the car with the stick on fire. He threw the stick at the ground instantly lighting the gas. The soldiers caught fire quickly bad shouted in pain. Kylen looked away in disgust and leaped for a rock out of the gasoline's radius. Coming to a graceful landing he looked back and see the soldiers remaining corpses. He looked at a wall to his right and slowly approached it. Bounding the corner a blunt object hits him in the face. His body limps and falls back into the dirt and ash. From the vision he had left, he seen a Talion Soldier hold the stock of his gun. Kylen's mind got fuzzy as he thought to himself, "Is this the end? All for nothing?" Suddenly he remembered where it started, how much he went through to get where he was now.
June 6, 2088; The cold air of Casani City rushed through the open vent in his room. Kylen woke up from the chill and looked up at his ceiling. The dry rock ceiling crumbled as he heard a loud buzz outside. Was it a ship passing by? Tonight wasn't The Octure, so it couldn't have been that. He looked at the table to the right of his bed to see a flashlight. He grasped it and flicked the switch and shined it on the wall where his calendar hung. Suddenly he heard a sound, like a bang. He froze and turned the beam of light to his door. The door budged and cracked. Someone was trying to get in! He Grabbed his dagger from the crevice in his bed frame. A Talion Soldier comes barging in and points his gun at Kylen. Kylen held the dagger close and wound it back. The soldier was quick and fire a shot at him. Kylen dodged it and rolled out of bed. Crouched against the wall he throws the dagger and stabs the soldier in the mask. Blood rushed from the mask and leaked onto his floor. Getting up and retaining balance, Kylen runs to the soldier and kicks as hard as he could to his neck. He grabs the blade from the face of the monster and shines his light through the doorway.
Moving cautiously moved into the darkness of the hallway. He walked down the hall in fear but also contained himself. He had to get to his parents room, then he had to check his brothers room. A closed door appeared on his right, he knew it was his parents room. He entered and searched the room for his father or his mother. He found nobody, just their sheets on the floor and the window wide open. He exited the room in panic and ran to his brothers room. He opened the door to his brothers room. "Marcus!" He shouted. He could t find his brother either when he searched. He heard footsteps in the hall. He ready his dagger and swung his blade. The handle spun end over end. The silver edge stabbed into the wall. A head was only inches from the puncture in the wall. "We need to leave, and we'll find mom and dad later." Marcus said. Kylen looked up and was so happy to see him. "Come on." He ordered. Kylen followed Marcus out of the house.
The air was filled with smoke and the ground was destroyed. A massive ravine split the road in two to about ten feet apart. The crevice was deep and dark. Kylen looked down it and seen nothing but darkness and edgy cliffs. Marcus stopped at the end of the road and turned back to Kylen. "Come on!" Marcus shouted. Kylen ignored him and looked up into the sky. A large octagon shaped ship lied above in the smoke shrouded sky. The sky was red and orange with dark stem clouds. He suddenly felt Marcus grab his arm and pull him along. The two ventured of the road and into the woods. As they marched through the trees, the sight of fire caught Marcus' eye. He jolted right away from the fire and ran along a path. "Come on! They're setting the forest on fire!" Marcus and Kylen finally made it to an opening in the woods. "Kylen listen to me." Meet me by the eclipse bridge, ok? I'm gonna try to find mom and dad." Marcus ordered him as he stampeded off. Suddenly he stopped and returned to Kylen. He knelt down to one knee to reach Kylen's level. "Look, if I don't come back or if I don't see you again." Marcus began to tear up. He wiped his eyes with his dried dirty hands and held Kylen's head. "I love you Kylen." A tear came from Kylen's eye as he hugged Marcus. "Don't give up, and never surrender." Marcus stood up and strolled of again. Marcus looked back and noticed Kylen was gone.
