Hey guys, sorry it's been so long since an update. It wasn't until recently that people actually started reading this. Thanks so much for the comments and messages. Also, I'm thinking about adding a point of view for Selena sometime in the chapter to get a girls view on the story. Comment if you think that is a good idea or not. Thanks. The rest of lunch was focused on talking about the upcoming soccer season. There’s one thing you must now about me and my friends: We live and breathe for soccer. Well, that and girls. But still, soccer is what we look forward to at the end of our day. It’s our escape from our somewhat fucked-up lives.
“Dude, you better watch out this season. I’m gonna whoop your ass in total goals.” James argues.
I look all over, under the table, left and right, like I’m trying to find something. I mean it’s gotta be around here somewhere.
“Marco, what the hell are you doing?” Ash asks in a very concerned tone but trying to contain his laughter.
“I’m just looking for James’s mind. I think he just lost it,” I say with a straight face then crack up. Dude, I’m seriously making myself laugh today. I’m on fire. The guys just snicker while James shakes his head with a smile. “There is no possible way you could outscore me. I’ve beaten you ass-clowns since Sophmore Year. This season will be no different.” I say to my obviously confused friend.
“He’s got a point, James. It’s been nearly three seasons of having to listen to him singing ‘We are the Champions’. We all know that’s going to happen again,” Eddy adds.
“Off-key, I might add,” David mutters. I fake laugh and then slap the back of his head. My voice is one of an Angel and they all know it.
Everyone’s laughter is cut off with the sounds of heels heading towards our table. I watch as David wiggles his eyebrows at me as the new-comer takes a seat next to me. This can only be one person . . .
“Hey Marco,” a sexy voice purrs. Oh, shit. I forgot all about Jessica. I look over to her and her low cut shirt. There’s no way she’s playing hard to get, so this is going to be so easy.
“Hey . . . Jessica?” I pretend like I forgot her name. One of the oldest plays in the book. It actually is. Sophomore year the guys and I made the playbook for picking up chicks. This is number five.
Her eyes change from confidence to disappointment. Perfect, now she’s doubting herself and it makes the whole thing so much easier. I self-five myself in my head.
“Uh, yeah. That’s me.” She states sadly. Damn, this is gonna be easy.
I snap my fingers like I’m remembering her. “Oh, that’s right. You’re Kayla’s friend, the hot one.”
She smiles brightly. James and David smile knowingly. They understand what I’m trying to do. You crush the girl’s self-confidence so she’s doubting herself, then bring up slightly, enough to make her want you again.
“Now that’s more like it,” She purrs again. She whispers in my ear, “You know, the closet is open now.” Boom, my play works again. I am seriously magic.
“Well, I guess we will have to occupy it.” I give her my favorite smirk and offer my hand. Just as we were about to leave, I glance over at the guys. Everyone is doing their best not to look at us except for Asher. Oh, shit! I promised him Jessica in exchange for Selena. Damn it!
