*Hey Y'all! I am super excited because this chapter is so intense. Get ready for some deep V&L feels right now, with a surprising twist. Enjoy!
The car drive to Lauren's house is quiet but almost magical at the same time. We are sitting in this comfortable silence that I've never been able to experience before. We don't have to say words, we can just sit, listen to music, and watch the cars go by. I love it. Silence is just so beautiful, especially shared with the right person. She gazes at me occasionally with a look. It's so distinct and hard to describe. It's like her eyes are alive, so fragile, but so accepting and happy. And the smile that goes with it, I wish the whole world could see it. Her smile makes me feel safe, so full of joy, it makes me feel apart of her.
Before I know it, we arrive at Lauren's house. It is a two-story house with a modern look on the outside. I lean forward in the car to see it through the windshield and gasp.
"How 'bout we go see it up close", Lauren says.
"Yeah, sounds like a good idea", I say with a smile.
I exit the car giving the door a soft push to close it. Lauren leads the way to the door and unlocks it. I take a step inside. She closes the door behind me.
"Damn", I say with awe wandering around a bit.
"I know right, it's pretty great", she says laughing.
"Here lemme take your bag V."
She reaches out to take it out of my hand. I pull my hand back.
"Hellooo, you didn't think you could take it from me that easily, did you?", I say with a smirk.
"So that's how it's gonna be."
Lauren lunges at me attempting to take my bag. I move my arm swiftly. She runs her hand through her straight black hair, flipping it perfectly to the side. Her eyes looking at me hungrily. What's going through her mind?
Lauren sprints towards me. I book it towards her living room bear hugging my bag.
"VERONICA KYLE, GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!"
"NOT ONE CHANCE MICHAELS, YOU GOTTA CATCH ME FIRST!"
We run around her house, trying not to break anything. I discover more and more rooms. Damn, this house is freaking big. I slip through the office door running back to the living room with Lauren chasing after me. I look around attempting to get away, but Lauren has me cornered.
"Um, let's talk about this", I reply with worry.
Lauren's eyes change. She charges me. I drop the bag immediately unable to move. Lauren wraps her arms around my sides roughly lifting up my shirt slightly. She transfers all her weight on me and pushes us onto the couch.
Her head is buried in my shoulder and her body is laying on top of mine, with no space in between. My heart quickens and my breath becomes uneven. How the hell did this happen?
She raises her head dragging her lips lightly up the side of my neck across my jawline. She puts her hands on the couch on each side of my face. This couch is not very big and we are right up against the cushions. That's probably why her lips went there. Right?
She stares right back into my eyes. I have no other place to direct mine except for right back in hers. My face is on fire. She bites her bottom lip.
"I caught you", she whispers huskily.
I take a deep breath in. She starts to lower her face, closer and closer to mine until they are only inches apart. She blows a strand of hair out of my face with her mouth. Her breath feels warm on my skin. Our bodies are fully connected, with our lips close. She runs her hand down the side of my face and traces my jawline.
