Back when you were still hiding in the darkest part of your room

You were once a little girl; alone, innocent and shy

Who's curious about everything and fancy about love and life.

You believe so much in fairytales like magic, princesses and mermaids

Chasing through the meadows and even as high as above the clouds,

Dancing and twirling with that one handsome prince charming.

One summer vacation, you happened to pass by an old bookstore

You got to read a lot of books and since then they became your friends

Out of the blue you silently wished, "Someday, I'm going to be a writer too."

It started with a three-stanza poem, then winged to short stories and novels

They took you to different spheres as created by your wildest imagination

You always woke up daydreaming in your own world of fiction.

Years passed by and you realized that writing is your most intense passion

From the characters you've given existence; they made you shed tears and smile;

Each scene you wrote mirrors your soul and experiences in life.

Thoughts keep you awake late at night and at times writing costs you a dime

There are struggles along the way when you seem to be uninspired

But I say to you, words will flow and show at the most perfect time.

You know it's not always easy to bare yourself through pen and paper

Critics may pull you down at times but continue to write anyway.

Learn from your mistakes as you grow as a writer day by day.

Yes, you have your flaws and shortcomings, even the darkest part of being you

But you've always dreamed of inspiring people by sharing your written stories

That somehow readers can relate from the protagonist's point of view.

Above all, keep looking up and always be grateful for everything that He has done

Wherever you may go, north or south, always keep your feet on the ground

Don't give up on your dreams; just write, write and write and do the best you can.
