-A dark society-
CHAPTER I
I open my eyes, but I can´t really see. All I see is darkness, as I start to incorporate myself. My whole body hurts, and I have a slight headache. I have some trouble getting up.
Where am I? I thought. I start to examine my surroundings; it’s seems like Im in some kind of Room I can barely see because of a small light source, a dim light coming out of a light bulb. The room is cold, as I reach to touch one of the walls, Metal. Then I notice a Door that appears to only open from the Outside, then I realize that somehow this Room is strangely familiar in some way. I look down into Myself, I´m wearing a strange suit, which covers me almost entirely except from my hands, feet and my head.
My thoughts are interrupted by a loud noise I turn around to see where it´s originated from and I realize it´s coming from the door. It seems to be opening, but it struggles to do so. Finally the door gives up with a noise, which sent chills down my spine.
When the door opened, a beam of light came straight into my face. I became blind until my eyes adapted to the sudden change of Darkness, to a fully illuminated room. Then not soon after the metallic door opened, a Tall Thin man with a lab coat came rushing straight to me. And right after him I saw a young female, around 19 years old, with light brown hair, and green eyes, I noticed that she was wearing the same suit. She looks worried, and we met eye contact, for half a second it seemed that I have seen her before, maybe she is part of my family, give that I only remember my Name…John I thought.
The metallic door squeaks, as if it wants to close as soon as possible, then the man speaks with a worried voice -John, I see you have woken up earlier than expected-he paused and continued talking with a more calm voice-Where are my manors, Hi I´m Doctor Stevenson, a pleasure to meet you, but more importantly here is your partner, Mary- as soon as he ended , Mary stepped closer and she stretched her hand into me –John, a pleasure to meet you– I feel her warm ,soft hand in my tough fingers. Then I look at her eyes, her green eyes, sparkling life that makes my red eyes look lifeless. –The honor is all yours Mary– I said, with a calm voice.
Mary smiled, then the Doctor continued speaking –John, I need you to come with me, I must show you your room, both of you–, –Sure I guess I have no other choice– I say while I´m looking at the rusty metallic floor. Shortly after my answer, he says – Good, follow me– as he starts to turn around, facing the door and starts walking, Mary looks at me for a moment as if she wanted to say something, but then he started to head out following the Doctor, then I start to head my way to my designated room and start to leave behind the strange room behind.
As I step out of the Room, I´m blinded from the light of a white hallway. I start noticing that there are four doors that look just like mine, only that one of them is sealed shout, as I continue thought the never ending hallway, and we finally come to a stop and then go to a sharp left where we face an elevator.
As we approach the small elevator, I notice that in the back of Mary´s suit there is a strange symbol that looks like a nuclear warning sign, but the color of the outside is a bright red and in the inside is a light grey. We get into the elevator and the Doctor pushes a button and we start going upward. It doesn’t take long to arrive to our destination, as soon as the door opens the Doctor steps out as fast as possible, as if he was in a hurry, and we resume our search of my room.
Not soon after walking in a grey hallway the Doctor stops and says –The room in the left is yours John, as the one on the right is Mary´s. Get some rest, we need to you be at your best for tomorrow John– soon after, the Doctor left and both Mary and I entered our respective rooms. As I enter my room I´m surprised on how alike this room is to the one I just came out of, with just a small amount of differences: a bed, a small shed, and a small desk. I enter the shed to see what secrets hide inside, and I found out it was a full bathroom.
I go to the sink to wash my face, just before I turn on the water, I look at my face, tough, with dark hair, long enough to almost cover my red eyes. I turn on the water, I wait until I like the temperature. Then I splash the warm water in my face, and then I look up into the mirror back again, now my hair is wet, but only on the tips, and now my wet hair covers my eyes. I try to remember more about myself, but I only recovered some of the memory of my past, first my name and that my eyes were dark green before I woke up in the Metallic room. I dry my hair with a white towel right next the sink, and I examine my suit to check if it has the same symbol that Mary´s did, and it was. I guess we are part of some kind of operation I thought, then I exited the shed and started going near my bed to rest and I´m surprised with a note, placed in my pillow, its folded half way and on the top has the same symbol that my suit has on the back. I picked up the letter and started reading:
¨I know you have some questions John, but right now the only thing you need to know is that you have to rest to be ready for your test, I will help you prepare for it¨ -Alpha-
Well I hope that ¨Alpha¨ guy tells me why I´m here I thought, then I proceeded to get on my sheets, I was looking upward, with both of my hands behind my head. I hope I remember what has happened to me, I just not feel like myself anymore.
