So now we had got the informations about the Steves. As we were leaving the library, a newspaper fell down before us. I took it up and was about to keep it on its place when I saw the headlines on it, 'David Williams is dead.'
I saw the date mentioned on it. It was 27th August, 1827.
I was shocked and showed it to Elsa. Even she was surprised to see it. How come did Mr. David die? We went through the newspaper.
"Mr. David Williams is found in his bed on the early morning. The post mortem reports say that he died due to a heart attack. The neighbours told that Mr. David didn't have any heart problem. They also said that the day before his death Mr. David had visited the same mansion where the Steves die or were killed. The police think that he went to the mansion for the same case but why no one knows. His son has took away all his research papers with him. He said that those were his father's memories and he didn't want to lose them."
"Ok, so Mr. David had visited the mansion again. But why? And just the next day he was dead! What is all these going on?" Elsa said.
All these incidents were really very confusing.
"Maybe he went there to find out something about the gang. Umm... what was the name?" I said.
"You mean the Black Moon gang?" Elsa said.
"Yes. And there are chances that he must have found something too due to which he was killed", I said.
"Oh Kiara! Don't you remember that Mr. David died due to heart attack. He wasn't killed", Elsa said.
" I don't think that he died due to a heart attack. Also the neighbours had said that he was not suffering from any heart disease. Also his son took away all his research papers", I said.
"Well. If such is the situation then we have to find those research papers", Elsa said.
"But how will we find them? They were taken away by his son Roger", I said.
"Maybe Roger your driver knows about it", Elsa said joking.
It was a joke for her but not for me. Maybe Roger really knew about this. But I said nothing. We left the library and went back home.
We had no plans for ahead. We were totally confused what to do. As soon as I went inside my house, my parents asked me where I was for the last three hours. I didn't had to say anything since Dad started," Kiara, it is really God's grace that you and Elsa were saved from the accident. The valley was so deep that we didn't even find Roger's body. Our car was stuck to a cliff but Roger wasn't there. Even after searching for two days his body isn't found."
I said,"Dad, what are you going to tell Roger's family?"
"Roger didn't have his family. He was all alone", dad said.
"What was his full name dad?" I asked.
"Roger Williams. This was what he told me when we kept him for duty", dad said.
I got a chill down my spine but said nothing. I was going towards my room when mom said,"We need to go to a party tonight. It is being arranged by our office and they have invited our whole family. Get ready fast dear, we will be leaving in an hour."
"Is it necessary to go mom?" I asked.
"Yes dear they want all of us to be there. Kiara, are you okay? You never said no to any party and today you don't want to go. Any problem?" Mom said.
"No mom. Just that I am a bit disturbed by all these incidents in the last few days", I said.
" I can understand dear. Just get ready for the party. You will feel better", mom said with a smile.
I went to my room. (Roger Williams! Was he the same Roger. But how can it be so. Roger was alive for two centuries. May be it is just a coincidence that the names matched.)
I brushed away all these thoughts and got ready for the party. I really didn't want to go to the party but still I decided to go.
I was just leaving my room when Jenny came in.
" Hey Jenny, you are looking very beautiful dear", I said to her.
"Thank you Kiara. You too are looking very beautiful", Jenny told me.
I gave her a smile and she smiled back.
"Kiara, let's take a selfie before going", she said.
"Sure dear", I said and took out my phone. We both took just one selfie which was contrary to our nature. We never used to click less than at least 10 pictures at a time. But neither of us complained.
As I held Jenny close to me, I felt a sudden chill in my body. It was as if her body was freezing.
"Jenny are you okay?" I asked her.
"Yes Kiara, but why did you ask this?" she said.
"Your body seems to be too cold", I said.
"Kiara, it is just because I have came out from my room where the air conditioner was on. It will be normal in some time. Now let us go down. Mom and Dad are waiting for us", she said.
"Ok. Let us go", I said and brushed away all those thoughts as I didn't want my parents to get upset due to me.
I locked my room and we went down. Mom and Dad were waiting for us and as soon as we got down, we all got out of the house and left for the party.
