Chapter 4

"Hey.", I said.

"Hey.", Michael said.

"So, it's just me an you now!"

"Yeah.", he said in a gloomy way.

"You're not your usual self today, Michael.", I managed to say. "What's wrong?"

"Well, unfortunately my parents want to meet you.", his voice cracked.

"What's so bad about that?"

"Actually, a lot of things."

"Talk to me about it."

"First of all, I don't have any parents. I have grandparents. Second of all, they're bitter people, don't care about anyone but themselves.

"Well, I'm not going to let that ruin our dinner. I say we get out of here, and go have fun.", I declared.

"Okay, Alex. Let's go."

He walked out the door opening it for me.

"What's up with you being all nice?"

"It's my first date, I don't want to ruin it.", he said in that soothing, sweet voice.

"Aww, thanks. You're sweet."

"No problem, anything for you."

We got in the car and he turned the radio on.

"This is my jam!", he yelled. I love seeing him this happy.

"Who is this?", I asked.

"Mayday Parade."

"They're amazing!"

Michael's POV

"This is my jam!", I yelled.

"Who is this?", Alex asked.

"Mayday Parade."

"They're amazing!"

"Yeah."

"Oh, wait! Take a right over there!", she shouted gleefully.

I wonder where she's taking me now...

"Stop right here.", she said.

"But we're just on a cliff."

"Exactly."

She's so amazing. I love her. I love her. I never thought I'd say that. I love Alex. Wow.

"Let's go outside.", she declared.

"Okay."

She laid down on the roof, staring at the stars.

"It's so beautiful! I love it out here.", Alex said amazed.

"Yeah, it is."

I'm going to ask her out. It's the perfect time.

"Alex, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, anything."

"Um, will you go out with me?" Like, be my girlfriend?", I finally choked out.

"Of course I will."

Alex's POV

"Um, will you go out with me? Like, be my girlfriend?"

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Michael was asking me out. I've day dreamed about this for a while. And now it's really happening.

"Of course I will."

"Yes!", he yell-whispered. He probably thought I wouldn't notice.

He opened his arms and gave me the biggest hug of my life.
