The news.
It turns on,
Broadcasting more deaths.
More shots,
More knives,
People taking their last breaths.
It's red,
It's angry,
It's already too late.
To stop this unforgiving tide,
Of death and hate.

But I turn around and frown,
And know this isn't true.
Because somewhere in the hopeless,
There's always someone like you.

Caring, and kind,
Helping us all.
Ready to love,
And ready to fall.
You strive for peace,
An almost hopeless goal.
But I know it's possible,
With so many hopeful souls.
