There you stood, amongst your closest companions in the place of dread, high school. Your friends' names were Jackie and Mace. And friends they were, good ones.
"Tom!! Get ready to go!!" Edd scolded, shouting as loud as his lungs would allow. Tom was a personal and mental failure. He failed his first years of high school and was now trapped, stuck redoing them.
"Tom get in the car!!" Edd yelled again his tone a little more bitter this time.
"Edd!!! Are you deaf? I said no!!" Tom spat back but gasped as he was thrown out of bed as Edd attempted to drag him into the car.
"Nooo!!!!" Tom bellowed, his throat aching as he was desperate for a drink. Tom grasped tightly onto anything and everything around him in a desperate attempt to escape Edd.
Edd, used to this morning routine, seized some rope and tied Tom's wrists and knees together as he put Tom's seatbelt on.
He removed the small pocket knife from Tom's jacket and set it in his own, away from Tom's irresponsible clutches. He then deftly shut the door and locked it.
"Nooo!!! Edd!!!" Tom screeched and tried to escape but it was useless. But then it hit him. Edd had taken away his knife, but he had something else hidden up his sleeve. Figuratively.
"Hey Matt, I'm gonna drive Tom down to the school. Call me if you need me." Edd said into his phone, talking to his friend, Matt.
"Whatever you said, I don't care honestly." Edd glared daggers glancing at the phone as they were intended for the person on the receiving end.
"Shut up Matt!!"
Matt's eyes remained fixed solely on the beautiful sight before him. "I truly look handsome, as always." He said narcissistically. His reflection was the most beautiful thing in the world to him.
"Alright Tom, we've arrived."
Tom mumbled aggressively as he had a gag preventing him from speaking.
"Oh right!" Edd mentally face palmed and untied the gag. Tom took a deep breath.
"Edd! If I were you I'd let me go right now!!" Edd shook his head and tried to lift Tom on his back.
He hastily pulled his phone out and dialled Matt's number. No answer. Why did he expect any different? Matt was probably too busy gawking at himself in the mirror.
"Oh God, please... Tord!!"
Edd lifted his phone again, but this time dialled a different number, a combination of numbers beckoning a man best identified as 'Tord'. Tord answered but refused to listen to Edd.
"I think he's coming..." Edd sighed.
Tord arrived eventually, laughing and strolling along casually as if he hadn't a care in the world."Hey, I know I'm late I'm sorry... NOT!!" Tord laughed at himself as he humoured himself and only himself. Poor fool.
"Why are you so... dressed up? So fancy?" Edd sighed again, massaging the bridge of his nose in frustration.
"Had you actually listened...never mind, just forget it..."
"Can you just help me get Tom into school, please?" Edd asked Tord but instead of giving him an answer, he just snorted and burst into laughter.
"Dream on!!!" Tord then ran off laughing at his own joke again. Edd sighed for the thirty-eighth time that morning. He untied Tom but held his arms securely behind his back and managed to get him into the building and Tom had him feeling defeated.
