Her loose shoulders shook, her hands hung low. They made no attempt to conceal or even wipe away her tears.

"Mom, please, I'm really sorry," Ashley whispered, wiping her nose with her sleeve.

Beneath brown skin, a flush began to rise to the surface. As Ashley slumped in her seat, long legs paced before her. Ashley glanced at her mother and when her mother's nostrils flared, She knew she was in deep trouble. “No, I’ve had enough! This is the final decision. I can't deal with your stupidity anymore."

"Mom, I won't disappoint you again! Please don't send me away," Ashley pleaded.

"Enough!" Her father shouted and glared at her. "You're moving and that's final. I don't want to see your face again."

That was the final straw, and it hit her hard. It was the first time her father ever shouted at her. Before this, there were always warnings and punishments, but it was all her mother's job.

Ashley slammed the bathroom door, not caring who saw. She broke down. The sobs ripped through her muscles, bones, and guts.

She pressed her forehead against the grimy stall door and began to let her heart yank in and out of her chest.

Her life crumbled in her fingertips. Then, suddenly, her sister was there, consoling her. "It will be fine, Ash."

But even she couldn’t do anything to stop the pain.

The last painful emotion hit her before she lost the ability to feel. Everything darkened into nothing as she passed into the oblivion of unconsciousness.

Ashely didn't know what was going on; she felt as if she was trapped in a building made of mirrors. Wherever she looked, there would be a reflection of her but in a different shade. Some light, some dark, and some in unexplainable shades, ones even she didn't recognised.

Darkness surrounded her, in the form of rain. As they travelled in the car, she fell into a deep slumber, one that tormented her into waking due to the raw feelings and emotions she kept relieving.

The car she was in finally came to a stop, and she looked up at where the driver was sitting. They had arrived at whatever place her parents had organised for stay.

“We have arrived, ma’am.”

After nodding at her driver, Thomas, Ashely sighed and walked towards the house.

She really crossed the line this time.

'But it wasn't even my fault,' Ashely mumbled.

Really? Her inner voice taunted her.

She was anything but innocent.

Now, she have to deal with the mess that she has caused, alone.

Hey guys,

I'm back with this super cliche story which isn't cliche at all or Maybe it is?

Well, I leave that on you!

This is different from my other 2 books. How?

Well, the main character is not Indian which is really a big challenge for me so let's hope for the best.

Anyways don't be a silent reader. Please drop your feedback. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks to jacelit for helping me with editing.

Xoxo,
