"Come on dad!" I cried out loud. "You're making our guest uncomfortable!"
"Sit darling. Now." He insisted. I groaned and sat at the seat nearest to Kyoto. I feel so bad about this. 8 guard's armed with dragon glass spears? It's not like he's eating with the devil!
"My apologies for this, ensemble of my best men," Dad implied. "I am only doing what should be done, from people as dangerous as yourself, Kyoto Morisaki."
"I am actually really flattered," Kyoto laughed out. "I expected assassins on standby, but this? I appreciate the message."
Dad nodded his head, gesturing Kyoto to sit. Kyoto sat down and put his napkin on his lap.
"Am I royalty yet?" Kyoto joked.
"Do you wish to be royalty?" Dad questioned with curiosity.
"Well, it crossed my mind, but I rather stay in the rooftops."
"You filthy low class insults my reputation as king. Don't you wish to make this land a better place with more peace and order?"
"Depends on which one we really get. Peace? Or order?"
"That will be up to you to decide, if you do one day become a high-class such as my daughter here."
I whined, "It's not like I chose to be this way!"
"I know, but you are my daughter. I must do what's best for you."
"Locking me up in my room, only letting me out when I'm a good girl and not sneak out?!"
"Watch your tone sweetie. You are making our guest uncomfortable."
"Oh, no please continue," Kyoto insisted. "I find this intriguing."
"You heard him," I started to slouch.
"Why wouldn't you want a life like this? You get everything you desire. Why would you want to give that up?!"
"Because what I truly desire is freedom!"
"Freedom comes at a dangerous price Kyri. I will not let my only daughter wander out there with the thought of men violating your bod-"
"Oh, you wouldn't have to worry about that!" I looked at Kyoto with a smile. "Right?"
Kyoto's eyes lit up, "Yeah, I'll protect her."
"You are the LAST person I would want my daughter to spend alone time with..."
Kyoto laughed. "So you're saying you'd rather lock her up in a jail cell with a mass murderer than let her go to South District with me?"
Dad got stuck in his words. "You don't know what it's like having to raise a daughter. It takes responsibility. I am only doing my job in protecting her. Your hypothetical questions mean nothing to me you low-life scum."
"Dad! Why must you be so arrogant and rude?!" I shouted at him.
"Go to your room, Now Kyri!"
I violently stood up and stormed to my room. "He's only like this with Kyoto..." I talk to myself in my room, "He seems to be fine with the rest of the kingdom. Everyone he invites to dinner always shares at least a couple of laughs. I don't understand what makes Kyoto such a criminal in his eyes. I mean, he's working under his own name! He should show a little bit of respect torwards him!' He's doing all of his dirty work to keep this kingdom safe!"
"Aww, I'm flattered Kyri," I hear Kyoto's voice from outside my room.
"Wh- You heard that?!"
Kyoto walks into my room bursting of laughter. "Wow, that made my fucking day!"
"Ugh, shut up!"
"Haha, sorry sorry."
"Why are you even here..?"
"I got your old man to let me 'comfort' you."
"Oh, thanks I guess..."
"Don't mention it."
We were in awkward silence for a few minutes. I watched him walk around the room, looking at my decorations on my walls.
"You don't get out often, do you?" he chuckled.
"No..." I sighed. "I hate it here. There's nothing to do in here!"
"This is a castle, don't you have a garden you can take care of or something?"
"Ugh, I hate flowers."
Kyoto stood silent for a second.
"Um, Kyoto..?"
He looked like he was trying to collect his thoughts.
"Y-you don't like flowers..?" He'd say, a little nervously.
"Well, they never really appealed to me."
"Wow, I'm so sorry you feel that way..."
Kyoto seems a little offended... but why?
I heard a knocking on my door. My first thought was my dad, but it turned out to be a castle guard. "Miss Kyri? Is Kyoto in there with you?"
"U-um, no!" I'd shout from my room. Kyoto looked at me with a shocked look on his face.
"Alright," said the guard outside my room. "If you find him, tell him Lingard is here to see him."
"Okay!"
"What do you think Lingard wants?" Kyoto would ask me, after hearing the guard walk away.
"He could possibly have another mission for me. I should probably go and talk to him." He walked over to her window, beginning to open it.
"Wait! Aren't there guards outside on the watch towers?" She said worryingly.
"I'll avoid them, no promises though." He waved as he jumped out of the window, head first.
