I opened my eyes slowly, blinking as my vision gets better. I panic once I realize I'm not at home, I can't move. I tilt my head to the side to see Alice and her boyfriend on a pale blue couch, asleep. I look to my other side and I see Aaron on a chair next to the bed I was on, laying his head on the arm rest of the bed I was on, holding my hand.
"Guys?" I manage to get out a whisper.
I pressed the button that said 'Nurse' a few seconds later a nurse comes rushing in.
Aaron and Alice both wake up.
Aaron: "What happened?! I-is she okay?!"
Nurse: "She just woke up."
I wave weekly.
Alice starts crying.
"What?" I whisper really confused as I look around for a answer.
Alice: "You've been in a shock induced coma for 5 days! I thought I was gonna loose you! Don't ever fucking scare me like that again!" She yells.
Aaron hugs me, I hug back without thinking.
Aaron: "You scared the hell out of me..."
Nurse: "Okay, I'm gonna tell you some personal information that has to do with your visit here, would you like your company to leave or stay?" she said looking at me and glancing at her clipboard.
"Stay..." I glance at Alice and she smiles.
Nurse: "Have you ever took the blade to your wrist? Have you been skipping meals?" she asked. "We're gonna try something new today, how does that make you feel?" (I'm sorry XD)
I choke, my eyes started watering.
Nurse: "We're gonna put you with several councilors, and 2-3 antidepressants pills a day."
Alice: "Alex... what is she talking about?" she looked at my with concerned eyes and almost started to cry.
"Um... the counselor wont help... it will make it worse." I say softly.
Nurse: "We can put you on just really heavy antidepression prescription, 3 pills a day for 6 months then see where it goes from there?" she said erasing and checking something else.
"Okay, that's fine." I say sitting up a tad.
I looked over at Alice and Aaron, they were both pretty much bawling. I gave them a sad face.
Nurse: "Okay, I'll be right back." she walks out the room.
Alice: "What the hell?"
"What?" I ask. "Don't act like you haven't!"
Alice: "Oh shush, I'm not the one who has to take a bunch of pills a day for half a fucking year!" she yells. "Sorry... I didn't mean-"
"No... it's fine, it's true..." I say fidgeting with my fingers.
Alice: "No, it's not an-" she tries saying reassuringly.
"No, stop... fucking stop. Don't try to pity me cause that was the truth." I say closing my eyes, holding back what I had to say. "and thank you for telling me what the nurse told me not even three minutes ago."
Alice: "Alex no don't make me look like the bad pers-"
"You practically said 'that's the reason you have to take pills for cutting and I don't'!" I said as calmly as possible. I wasn't mad... just sad I guess...
Aaron: "I'm lost..."
I chuckle.
"When can I leave this shitty place, anyways?" I ask.
Aaron: "Tomorrow..."
"Damn..." I sigh.
Nathaniel: "What..." He says waking up.
~ The next day
Well, I was released from the hospital. Aaron is driving me home, Alice and Nathaniel in the back seat, sleeping again.
"Ya know, Aaron, you didn't have to stay with me at the hospital for a week..." I say looking at my still bandaged arm.
Aaron: "I mean why wouldn't I?" he asked.
I start unwrapping the bandage slowly.
"I don't know..." I asked.
I'm on the last thing and I pull the bandage off, tear it off and admire my arm covered in medicine and red.
Aaron: "You weren't suppose to take that off..."
"I don't care... I don't want medicine on it anyway..."
Aaron: "Why...?"
"Because..."
Aaron: "You know you can stop, right?" he said.
"Easier said than done"
He pulls up his sweater sleeve and I see a bunch of kinda deep scars. I take my ice cold hands and drag them down his arm slowly, feeling every slight cut scar.
"If it was as easy for me..."
Aaron: "I'll help you..." He says looking at me with a loving gaze in his eyes.
I grab his warm hand.
"I-i...." Say it, Alex... Tell him you adore him, tell him you are in love with him.
Aaron: "Huh?" He smiles.
"I'm tired..." I laugh reinsuring my words. "But I don't wanna sleep"
I love you, I love you, I love you...
Aaron chuckled, we were so close to Alice's house.
"When we get there, I'm asleep." I tell Aaron...
Aaron: "Why?"
"Cause" I hug his arm and lay my head on his shoulder while he drives with his left hand.
We come to a stop.
Aaron: "Nano! Were here!" He says yelling, trying to wake him
Nathaniel: "I'm up" he said tiredly. "Babe, get up"
Eww
Alice"Wha-" she says. "Were here already? How fast did you drive? Its like 30 minutes away."
Aaron: "Fast" he laughs. "But this is yals stop" he parks his car.
Alice: "Tell Alex I said I'm sorry" she gets out the car. "And I know you're not asleep." She closes the door and runs up to her front door hand-to-hand with Nathaniel. She probably missed her mom a lot. What is my mom gonna think? Oh wait... She's on business...
I let go of Aarons arm and I sit up.
"Was my act really that bad?" I ask.
Aaron: "Nah, not at all" he smiles and laughs.
We get to my house and we both get down. I wait for Aaron to get to my side of the car before walking with him to my front door. I unlock it and walk in, it smells of like mint, weird.
I walk up the stairs slowly to my room, Aaron following.
