Chapter 2

Breathe. Breathe. Miranda told herself.

"Hey, are you okay?" The hooded boy asked her.

She shook her head afraid.

"Hey, don't be afraid." He said taking off his hood, "Look no need to be scared. I won't hurt you."

Miranda couldn't help but stare at the boy in front of her. Never has she ever seen a boy with such beautiful blue eyes.

"You have really pretty eyes," she blurted out. Once her mind registered what she said she immediately covered her mouth and shyly looked down.

The boy looked at her amused and let out a hearty laugh the could bring the saddest of person to smile.

"Thank you."

She covered her entire face as her cheeks burned with embarrassment.

"Well, you have really beautiful hair. ," he said lifting her chin up.

If it was even possible I felt my cheeks heat up even more.

"I like to move it, move it!" The song blasted across the cramped up room.

His cheeks heated up at the sound of his ring tone. "Excuse me."

"Hello?" The boy asked. "Drake? Yeah, I'm still here". Peeking at Miranda, "I just got side tracked. Where are you guys? Okay. I'll be there in 10."

Looking at the girl in front of him, he couldn't help but admire the sight in front of him. Her brown locks fell perfectly on her shoulders highlighting her face. She wasn't very tall, maybe around 5'2 or 5'3? To say this girl is pretty was an understatement, she was gorgeous.

He honestly didn't know what came over him when he grabbed her hand dragging her with him after bumping into her.

Feeling him staring at her, Miranda cleared her throat.

"Do you t-think its safe to leave now?" She asked.

Leave? He thought. Why would she want to leave me so soon? Was she here on a date? Jealousy shot through him at the thought.

"I need to get back to my brother and his friend. They might be worried about me," she said imagining her brother probably running around the stadium with a worried face.

The boy let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding at the thought. Brother. She had a brother.

"Yes, of course." He said smiling at her. "Stay back for a sec let me just check if those girls are still out there."

Opening the door behind him, he peered out to check if the close was clear.

"Come on," he told her. They walked around the corridors cautiously and stealthily.

Why were those girls even after him? She asked herself. He doesn't seem like a bad guy.

Tugging at the hem of the boy's shirt. The boy in front of her turned around and raised his brows in question.

"Why were those girls running after you?" She asked as she peered at him though her lashes since he was really tall. Miranda felt like a midget standing next to him.

The boy was shocked at her statement, "Uhm..."

Her eyes widen, "D-did you do something bad?"

She didn't know who I was? He thought shocked.

Clearing his throat, "No. I didn't do anything bad." He smiled at her innocence.

Cocking her head to the side, "What's your name?"

"Not until you tell me yours."

Miranda furrowed her brows in confusion, "But that's not fair."

"Exactly."

***********

It's been 30 minutes since Miranda excused herself to go to the restroom. Aaron was starting to get worried. The game was about to start in 20 minutes and they still haven't found her.

"Dude, I can't find her anywhere." Riley exclaimed as he came running back.

"Didn't you say she was only going to the restroom?" He asked his friend again as he ran his hand through his hair.

Nodding his head, "Yeah. That's all she told me before she left." I should have gone after her. He thought.

"Let's split up again. We can find her faster that way. You take that side, I'll take this. Call me if you find her," Aaron said as he run off with a bag filled with food.

Going off to the other direction, Riley couldn't help but think of blaming himself if something happens to her.

"Miranda, where are you?"

*********

"Miranda!" Aaron's voice filled her ears. Turning around she saw her brother's worried face. She instantly felt guilty.

This must be her brother. He thought as he watched Aaron drew her in his arms and hugged her.

"Aaron, y-you're squishing m-me." She gasped.

"Oops," he smiled sheepishly at his sister. "Sorry."

His smile instantly vanished when he saw a boy behind his sister.

"And you are?" He asked his expression growing darker.

Miranda saw the look on her brother's face and instantly knew that this isn't going to turn out good if she didn't interfere soon.

"A friend," she smiled at her new friend.

Her brother always did this to all her new friends. That's why she became a loner in school cause everyone was afraid her brother might beat them up. So far she only had one real friend and that was Lexie but she was on vacation with her family right now.

"Friend?" Her brother asked skeptical. "Do you know how worried Riley and I were when you didn't come back after 30 minutes. Why weren't you answering your phone?"

Miranda looked down guiltily, "I-"

"It was my fault, I'm sorry." The unknown boy behind them said.

"You're God damn right, it's your fault." Aaron said glaring at the shady boy with his cap and sunglasses on. Who the hell wears a cape and sunglasses indoors? A shady person, that's who.

"Aaron," Miranda warned her brother.

"What? I'm just stating it as I see it," Aaron said shrugging in innocence.

"I'm a Barbie girl in a Barbie Wolrd-" Aaron's phone rang.

Feeling two amused stares, Aaron gave them both a flat look, "Shut up!"

"Hello?" He asked the person on the other line. "Yeah, I found her. We're near the entrance. And why the fuck is my phone blaring this girly shit? Okay. Fine. Whatever man. See you."

Once Aaron ended the call and an awkward silence invaded the three.

"Miranda, there you are!" Riley said appearing out of no where.

The unnamed boy looked at the intruder with curiosity. He could understand Aaron's worried and panicked look when he first saw them since he was her brother. He was brought out of his thought when the intruder brought the Miranda into his arms. A frown immediately made its way into his features as he saw it.
