ISAK VALTERSEN
MONDAY, 18. September, 14:12.

Monday.
Last time I had talked to Jonas was Saturday and the line's been dead since then. He didn't seem like he'd noticed that his affair told me about whatever happened between them as he acted completely normal towards me. God, he makes me want to throw up.

"Hei."

Sighing, I turned around to meet Eva's eyes. Startled, I swallowed and put on a little smile.
"Hey."

Thinking about the fact that she didn't know that her boyfriend had cheated on her and still did made me feel sick to my guts. He probably didn't even plan on telling her any time soon.

"We didn't get to talk at the party...", she clutched her green folder, "Do you want to get lunch together?"

Being honest, all I wanted to do was lock myself in my room and do nothing. Ever since I found out about my best friend fucking my girlfriend at the time behind my back made me want to never encounter any human being ever again. But I couldn't turn down Eva again.
"Sure, why not. Anything specific you've got in mind?"

"Noora and I got delicious pasta in a restaurant just around the corner, so if you're up for it...", she smiled and so did I, nodding.

MONDAY, 18. September, 13:26.

"So how was the party for you yesterday?"

I chewed on my spaghetti thinking about a good response.
"It was okay, nothing special. I've been to better parties", I cleared my throat, "I remember you telling me you were gonna go to Italy over the summer holidays... did it work out?"

"It did! Florence is a stunning city and the people there are really friendly, but the language was a bit of a problem at first...", she laughed. "But yeah, I learned fast and after a while I understood pretty much everything."

Smirking, I answered: "Glad to hear that."

"And I haven't told you the best thing yet – Jonas wrote me letters, letters to Florence! Isn't he so romantic? We face-timed a lot and he said he missed me so much. I honestly think I have the world's best boyfriend."

My jaw clenched. I never would've expected my best friend to be that kind of guy. I remember talking to him a few weeks ago, about how he'd never be with someone else than Eva. And I believed him, because I knew he's good deep down. But that made it even harder for me to try and understand his actions.

"Oh really", I lifted the edges of my lips to make sure she didn't notice my sudden mood change. "How about friends? Did you get to know some new people..?"

As soon as the brunette started talking my look slipped off her and focused on a boy who sat at a table with his friends further in the back. As I kept looking, I slowly understood why his face seemed so familiar. And he must've caught me staring, because he smiled at me in that very moment.

"Isak?"

I snapped out of my trance and looked at Eva.
"Y-yeah?"

"You weren't listening, right?", she raised her eyebrows, yet with no indication of being mad at me.

I couldn't help but start smiling at her accusation, mostly because it was true this time.
"I was! I just have some stuff going on with my parents, so that keeps bugging me", and my happy face changed into one without expression.

"Is the situation worse again?"

Nodding, I looked at my hands. My mother had gone to a friend after the Friday incident, leaving me pretty much by myself as my dad wasn't home a lot anyways. Considering their constant separation, I felt like they'd split up soon. And worst thing was, that it didn't even bother me too much. "Yeah, they had another fight before I went out. Mom left afterwards", I exhaled slowly, "I wonder how long this'll go on fo-"

"Hei, Isak."

I jumped slightly at the his voice before looking up to the face I had been observing until a few moments ago. Letting a light smile stretch on my lips, I responded with a soft "Hey, Even". But before I could finish my sentence, the other boy opened his mouth again: "What are the odds to meet you here, huh?"

By now I had noticed that Eva looked at me, eyebrows scrunched up in confusion.

"Eva, this is Even. He-"

"-stopped Isak from vomiting all over himself."
A sly smirk crept upon his face and I felt embarrassment pool in the pit of my stomach. "Anyways, we met at the party."

My female friend smiled friendly: "Sounds nice. Where are you from, Even?"

"I moved here from Sandefjord, but I've been living here since August", he cleared his throat, "Sadly, as much as I enjoy our little chat, I have to go back to my friends again." He turned to Eva, "It was a pleasure of meeting you" before he looked at me and smiled. "Good to see you again, Isak. I'll see you around."

I nodded: "Yeah, will do."

MONDAY, 18. September, 20:43.

Eva Mohn: Lunch was nice today, glad we saw each other again.

Also, interesting to how you and Even met haha.

You: Agreed! And yeah, I was so fucked that night.

Eva Mohn: I hope it wasn't because of your parents :(

When you need someone to talk just hit me up okay?

You: No, it wasn't, don't worry. Thanks though.

Monday evening.
What was I going to do with my time?

Still not too sure what to make of my free night I stood up and decided to go to the kitchen to fix myself some dinner. As there was never much in the fridge, I put some cereal and milk into a bowl and got a spoon to sit  down at what was once called 'the family table'. The corn flakes tasted flavorless and old and I made a mental note to grab some groceries sometime this week.

My thinking was interrupted when my phone buzzed. Unlocking it, the display showed a new message which made me scrunch up my eyebrows in confusion.

Chris Schistad: Hey man, you left your Biology book atmy table after group work today. I have P.E. in the last two lessons so you cancome and grab it afterwards.
