Alexandria's POV
I always thought of myself as an unlucky child. I lost my parents at a very young age and now I lost my mother's sister,my aunt, Vega Dominique. My godmother and my precious friend is now miles away from me. The 'Van Perez' Group is the richest chain of company that ever existed. The second richest is the 'Theodore Chains' and thirdly came 'Viltchvoght Compania'. I,Alexandria Van Perez, was born as the heir of this vast, massive epitome of success.People are jealous of my inheritance and most of them are my father's 'close' friends. They either want to merge our businesses as I am inexperienced or they want their sons to marry me which will eventually lead to a merger.

"Miss Lexie, Vega Ma'm left this envelope for you." said Priya,breaking my daydream. Priya is Aunt Vega's 'helper'. Not really a maid but not a P.A either.

I nodded as she handed me the envelope on which my name was written with thin strokes of a ball pen. I recognised the handwriting as Aunt Vega's. I went to my room so as to read the letter in peace. It began as something like this ;

My dear Lexie,
If this letter reached you it might be cause I am no more but anyways,the essential is that you have to leave Chicago. You have to fly to New York. In this letter's envelope you'll find business class New York tickets. For you three inseparable friends. Cameron,Lucy and you. You might have lots and lots of questions. What ? Why ? When ?. I can't answer all of them. The only thing i can tell you is that i had cancer. The doc said i might only have three or so months to live. Thats why i decided to send you away. New York is the city where your mother and i grew up. She literally left her presence there. My little pearl. My bundle of joy. Don't ever forget how much Aunt Vega loves you.

By now, I am sure that I had tears flowing endlessly down my cheeks. Jeez, so much for being strong for a little while more. I quickly wiped my tears as I saw my best friend,Lucy Millan, approaching me. My tear-stained cheeks didn't go unnoticed I guess because she engulfed me in a neck-breaking hug. I hugged her back kind of reassuring her that I'm fine. I handed her Aunt Vega's letter. A minute later she looked at me intently as if carefully choosing her words. She said:

"Lex, we're leaving tonight. I cannot fathom how you're feeling right now but Cam and I are here for you."

" I'm okay Luce. Don't worry. I know Aunt Vega is looking over me."

" Gimme a hug too Lexie." Waaay to ruin the moment. That was Cameron O'Brian. My brother from another mother. I sniffed and smiled at him. Not wasting a minute, he scooped me in his long ,muscular arms. Cameron was a six-foot tall guy. Sandy blond hair. Grey-ish blue eyes. High cheekbones, defined jawline and dimpled smile. He was the total 'eye candy' type of person. Cam tightened his grip on me, breaking me from my thoughts. I returned his hug, equally tightening my arms around him.

"Thank you Cam." I said giving him a peck on the cheek.

" Always there when you need us Lexie." Cam reassured as he stroke my cheek with his long,nimble fingers.

" I know. We should get packing i guess. Our flight is in four hours."

Lucy, Cameron and I dispersed to get our stuff. An hour later, we were already on our way to the airport. How I dislike going through the security thing. It takes a lot of time and it's annoying. If only I knew, I would've notified my private jet. Yes. I said private jet. Now that I am nineteen , i have full reins on my parents' empire. I can't say I'm ecstatic but well we gotta do what we gotta do. I don't know why though I am looking forward to New York.
