Unthought Of

Interhouse unity.
It was a concept not thought of as a problem, that is until McGonagall, the Hogwarts headmistress, announced the expected solution to it at the welcoming feast, thirty years after the Battle of Hogwarts.
The students chattered loudly as they dug into their pudding, some having to yell at others to be heard.
The dimly lit main hall gave off its usual medieval atmosphere, comfy and warm compared to the already chilly weather outside.
The clinking of spoon against cup was heard all throughout the hall, lightening the loud chatter to an occasional whisper as all eyes turned to the headmistress clad in black and green.
"I have an extra special announcement to make," she let her voice and smug expression roll over the hall, "And after much thought and discussion, I have decided to address the problem of neglect of inter-house unity."
Many students groaned, others stood still in anticipation.
"No stupid teacher-made solution is going to make me love a Gryffindor," And other similar mutters were heard, but quickly silenced with a grandma-ish death stare.
"In honor of the thirtieth anniversary of Voldemort's death, my staff and I have decreed to start a requiry that we shall call 'The Hogwarts Exchange Program'.
'God damn it.'
'I knew it.'
'I guess it's a learning experience.'
"Silence," the professor uttered, "I shall now let one of our oldest, living teacher here at Hogwarts explain the curriculum."
Professor Flitwick then proceded in standing up on his stool, and in a high squeaky voice proclaimed, "THE HOGWARTS STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGR-"
Flitwick stumbled off his seat due to an enchanted paper crane flying into him.
A round of laughter was heard around the great hall, the responsible student at the Gryffindor table, unknown to the teachers, smiling mischievously.
Flitwick clambered back up to his seat, murmuring about how he'd murder a student as Hagrid, a half-giant with long, wild gray hair, stifled a snort.
"AGAIN. THE HOGWARTS STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM WILL BE SIMPLE. PARTICIPANTS ARE CHOSEN RANDOMLY FROM THE GOBLET OF FIRE, AND EVERYONE IN THE SCHOOL'S NAME IS IN IT.
THREE STUDENTS, FOURTH YEARS AND UP ONLY,"
Cheers echoed through the room, quickly shushed by Flitwick's harsh glare,
"-WILL BE CHOSEN FROM EACH HOUSE TO PARTICIPATE AND GO TO SEPARATE HOUSES. IF YOUR NAME IS CALLED, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY PROCEED TO YOUR ASSIGNED HOUSE. UNDERSTOOD?"
Around the hall, murmers were heard.
"UNDERSTOOD?"
In retaliation to the teacher's annoying repetition, no one above the first year said anything.
Flitwick sighed and jumped off his heightened stool.
Snickers and groans could still be heard around the hall as the voices of students grew louder. Then Minerva clapped twice.
The entire hall immediately silenced as the goblet of fire appeared in the middle of the room.
The students who had thought the teachers to be joking's jaws now slacked.
Minerva walked toward the cup with graceful elegance, her green and black robes sweeping around her. She walked at an even pace toward the golden cup, which blazed with a fire as bright as a torch in the night.
Speaking of torches, all torches in the hall suddenly gave out.
Magic.
"The Ravenclaw who shall go to Slytherin..."
A piece of blue paper flew from the magical goblet.
"Adaline Pennings."
Thd first student, a black haired girl with green eyes, stood up shakily. Everybody's eyes were glued to her as she wearily made her way to Slytherin, some of the green-clad students attempting to welcome her warmly, others cold and reluctant to her at first sight. She sat down, and the same process repeated many times.
Maximilian Hsu to Gryffindor.
Cammile Smith to Hufflepuff.
The process repeated with the Slytherins, who acted either more reluctant or more confident as walking to their tables.
Amelie Dangerfield to Ravenclaw.
Rowan Amacelli to Gryffindor, who was treated with nothing short of fake and cold smiles.
John Zhang to  Hufflepuff, all still in disbelief of the occurring events.
Now Gryffindors, who seemed to be either groaning or hoping to be chosen.
Caroline Boards to Ravenclaw.
Natalie Hamper to Slytherin, again, greeted with an atmosphere of cold air.
Hidara Astral to Hufflepuff.
"Now to the Hufflepuffs," Minerva murmured.
The rest of the houses immediately went back to their food and chatter as the headmistress tried to speak.
"SILENCE!" She yelled, and the hall heeded to her command, "We will treat our last house with the same respect they have been treating you."
Some students in the hall rolled their eyes as the Hufflepuffs, some infuriated, some pretending not to notice, watched on.
And as the headmistress pulled one of the final houses paper, some could say they saw fear glimmer in Hufflepuff eyes.
