Once again...

EMMA's POV

What exactly do you call this emptiness I have inside of me? Sadness...Anger...I just can't describe how it feels to have been so useless...once again.

I'm so empty that tears just don't come out anymore. How can I keep living knowing that my brother...my own flesh and blood was out there in danger all theses years...and I didn't even know.

It's been a week since all that happened.

I can't describe how it feels to lose the same person twice. All I know right now is I'm angry and sad that combine themselves to form my emptiness.

I want to just be left alone and lay in bed all day everyday for the rest of my life.

But I also want to kill the bastard that had their hand behind the trigger.... And that's exactly what I'm going to do.

I got up. I got changed and went to find the one person who can help me get what I need. Amanda.

"Hey! Amanda!" I said trying to not to sound depressed.

No one knows who he was and why I was crying. To them he is a stranger but to me he is my brother.

"Hi. Emma, what's going on?"she asked.

"Do you remember the book you were reading to that explained who I was?" I asked.

"Yea? Why?"she said weirdly.

"Can-can you tell me if this book says how I can activate my 'powers'." I said in a whisper.

"YES!!" She yelled obviously excited by my comment.

"Keep your voice down!" I whispered/ yelled

"Sorry" she apologized

She once again took me to the library where the book was and she realized that in all the times she's read the book it never once mentioned the 'how' part on my abilities.

I guess I have to go commando. Powers or not I am going to kill the bastard that pulled the trigger.

JAKE's POV

I woke up back in the cell again. Looks like the bullet went straight through. It already healed.
Oh my gosh Emma she must think I'm dead. I have to get to her I can't stand the thought of her watching me hurt again. I can't stand the thought of her ever getting hurt again.

I just hope that she doesn't find out the man behind all of this.

I could have easily have stopped that bullet I got my abilities a long time ago. I don't know how but all I remember was how angry and sad I was because my sister thought I was dead.
That night where our step dad beat me I did die but my body quickly healed and my heart started beating again. But by the time that happened I was already in that cell.

The one time a man took me out of the cell and started beating me again and I couldn't take it anymore and somehow I just had these abilities and the one moment I wasn't paying attention they gave me the sedative and I haven't used them since.

The people here give me a sedative every week that disables my abilities so I haven't been able to use them since I got them.

EMMA's POV

I got some things and started walking out. Caden followed.

"You can't go you aren't trained and you don't even have your abilities, you're going to get hurt." He said with concern all over his face.

"I don't care I just wanna kill the man who shot my brother." I said determined.

"Well at least let us go with you" He said.

"Us?" I asked and saw that a lot of people were behind Caden including Amanda. My one other friend here.

I nodded and we left to find the son of a bitch.

It was cold and windy and 5:00pm when we made it to the warehouse. Someone was outside and we went around and I was about to go up and try and get him but he saw me coming.

"Ah Emma, the boss has been expecting you." The man said.

They knew we were coming?

Just as I zoned out I saw my brother pushed out of the doors.

I snapped my head towards the direction of the noise. My brother was on his knees. A man walked out behind him and picked him up and brought a knife up to his neck.

Please no.

I looked up to the man and I was in disbelief. The man who abused and tortured me was once again in my life holding someone I love with a knife millimeters away from their neck.
