Thea's Saturday mornings don't usually start out like most fourteen year old girls weekends. Thea enjoys waking up at dawn and grabbing her riding helmet, hoping in the car with her Mum Sarah to willow stables to ride her horse, Kermit. As Thea's Mum, Sarah drove her daughter to the riding grounds, Thea had been reading a book on wild horses.
"What are you reading, Thea?" Sarah asked her horse-crazy teenager.
"A horse book, Mum ." The girl replied not looking up from her book.
"What a appropriate thing to be reading on the way to the stables." Thea's mum smiled at Thea.
"If you must know, Mr.Green has a horse coming into day called, Storm. Mr.Green told the riders and I last Saturday." The sound of a book closed as Thea told her mum the details that Mr.Green also know as Tom had told her and the riders last Saturday.
"Sounds exciting, Thea." The car came to a halt as they had reached their destination.
"Thanks for the rice, Mum." Thea shoot her mum a grateful smile.
"Anytime, sweetheart." Thea's Mum drive off letting Thea to go do what she does best.
As Thea started walking towards the Willow stables, the early morning wind blew through her long brown ponytail and the sounds of horses nays could be heard from far away. It was a sound that made Thea more eager to see her horse, Kermit.
"Ah, Thea, how are you doing this morning?" Tom the owner of Willow stables asked the teenager girl.
"Great, thank you. And yourself?" Thea asked Tom.
"Good thanks, Thea." He gave the girl a smile. "Why don't you go get, Kermit tacked up and we can get started on you're lesson before Storm arrives?" Thea got a saddle and a pad to go underneath the saddle and went to reunite with Kermit. Once Kermit had his bridle and saddle on, horse and rider were ready to start jumping in the riding ring.
Tom helped Thea mount Kermit by giving her a leg up onto the saddle, giving Thea instructions to start with a slow walk to warm her horses legs up. Ten minutes had pasted and Tom told Theia she could give Kermit's belly a squeeze with her heels to let him know it's time to Trot on. Thea liked the feeling in moving in sync with her horse's movement , it made her feel that she had a stronger connection with her horses bond. The next stride was the canter. The canter is like running and on top of the saddle feeling Kermit's stride every few seconds felt like they were both running of the ground.
"Beautiful, Thea, losses the reins just a bit...that's it." Tom instructed Thea as she went into the canter. "Now if you would like you can get ready to jump that small jump." Tom stood back to give Thea room.
Just as Thea turned the Corner of the arena, a car with a horse float attached pulled up with a black friesian stallion who wasn't very thrilled to be at Willow stables. The black horse was stomping his feet in the horse float startling Kermit.
"Woah, easy, Kermit." Thea stated and patted her pony's neck as he jumped in the air making his two front legs come of the ground.
"Easy, Kermit." Tom grabbed the front of Kermit's bridal and stroked his furry neck.
With an effort, two mean got the horse out of the float and on to the grass which he started to graze on.
"Ah, Storm has arrived." Tom seemed to relax like rocks had Ben taken off his shoulders.
"That's storm?" Thea gasped and dismounted her pony, tying his reins to a post. "Why is he behaving That way?" Thea asked curiosity getting the better of her.
"All your questions will be answered later, Thea." Tom nodded his head at the men that had driven storm to the stables. "Put him in the fourth stall, please." Tom turned to Thea. "Thea, Storm isn't like other horses, he was once wild." Tom has answered Thea's question from before.
"I can see that." She replied with a hand on her hip.
"I want you to help me with him." Tom explained.
"Me?!" Thea said nearly at the state of shock.
"Yes, you." Time chuckled at the young girl's experession. "Let me show you how you can help." Tom guided his rider towards the stables with a hand of her back. Thea could see from a distance Storm's black head popping out, taking in his surroundings, but something Thea had not noticed before was Storm was injured.
