The following day, the Rylee and Georgeanna went to school with no such energy. The two looked like walking zombies to be exact. I mean, they only had what, three or four hours of sleep?
Anyway, They both entered the university with long faces. "What's up with the long face George?" Some random person asked Georgeanna while she was putting her stuff in her designated locker.
Georgeanna froze from the nickname. For a moment she thought that the person asking her was Bucky, but when she turned around all her hidden and unknown excitement went down the drain once she saw Jack, a person Georgeanna wasn't really close with.
"Oh, it's nothing. Just didn't get much sleep." Georgeanna mumbled and took her books.
"I wonder why? Probably studies huh?" Jack tried to mae a conversation. Georgeanna didn't know why he was talking to her. And the way he was talking to her seemed forced. It was like someone ordered him to talk to her. Georgeanna just nodded.
"Look, uh, I really need to get going now. I'm about to be late. So um, bye?" She pointed to the classroom.
Jack nodded. "Yeah, okay. Bye." He walked away. As soon as he walked away he picked up his phone and walked up somewhere. Georgeanna proceeded to follow him due to her curious mind.
She was about to take a left turn when someone called her name. "Hey Georgie!" Rylee called out to her friend. "Where you going?" She questioned seeing as they both had the same class and that was not the way to their classroom.
"Look, there's this guy, Jack--"
"wait, the one who talks to no one but observes what everyone does Jack?"
"Yeah, that Jack. He suddenly walked up to me and asked me why I had the "long face""
"sooo...?"
"Rye, there something different about him. It's as if he was forced to be here to look for something." Rylee nodded understanding what her friend was saying.
"So you're saying he could be a lead to finding Pepper?" Rylee whispered quietly, making sure no one could her what they were talking about.
"Well, i'm not really sure. But I have a feeling that he is."
"Where is he now?" "I was supposed to follow him until you called. But i'm sure we could find him later."
"Well then, let's get to class!" Rylee dragged her Gerogeanna
As the hours dragged by, lunch break finally came in. The two didn't have time to eat breakfast earlier due to waking up late, so they were obviously starving.
"I hope the cafeteria prepares something good." Rylee said.
"They better." Georgeanna agreed. "Cause' I'm hungry."
"Then walk faster! We're already left behind by our other classmates."
In fact, they were so left behind, the hallways were now practically empty. They took a turn to the left corridor and froze at what they saw.
It was great, ol' Jack, talking to someone on his phone.
Rylee would've made a comment about him talking to someone besides his anti-social-ness, but Georgeanna placed a hand on Rylee's mouth and moved them both backwards, behind the wall.
"Shhh," Georgeanna whispered. Rylee nodded, inclining her ear toward the conversation.
"You gotta hear me out, boss. I think there's someone at school who knows." Jack whisper shouted toward the other end.
