"Take it," Kalen hissed, pressing the knife into Sadie's palm. It was beautiful, silver with an ornate golden hilt.
"Take it and kill her." His eyes glinted menacingly, "You know as well as I that it needs to be done."Sadie's heart was thudding madly in her chest, she couldn't, not her sister...

Nehemia froze, the metal cold against her throat. Sadie stood above her face grim, eyes screwed shut.
"You took everything from me."
Her voice was barely a whisper, hoarse from crying.
"They took me away, took my family, then you took my throne."
"Sadie, I don't want the throne," as Sadie's eyes widened in shock, Nehemia grasped her wrist and wrestled the knife away, chucking it into a doorway.
"All I want is my family back." She looked up pleadingly, "I just want to go home."
Sadie bit her lip, "He'll kill me if I don't do it," a tremor ran through her, "He will."
"I won't let him."
A low voice issued from behind the girls. Behind stood a woman with golden hair that flowed to her waist, and bright blue eyes ringed with gold.
"Mum?" Said Sadie uncertainly, "Is that you?"
"Yes," replied Aelin. She ran forward and swept the two up, "My girls, oh my girls..." She hugged them both tightly.
"I think its time to go home, don't you?" They nodded in agreement as Aelin walked over to where the others lay sleeping.
She shook Merlina gently awake, "Merli, its me, its time to go now. Time to go home."
Nehemia looked from one to the other, "You two know each other??"
"We were best friends once upon a time." Said Merlina sadly, "but then I left, and a charm stopped me ageing "
"Its so good to see you again." smiled Aelin, "but nows not the time for reunions, we need to get home."
"What about Julia?" Asked Sadie, her eyes flicking to the younger girl.
"She can come to." Aelin scooped her up and addressed the others.
"Okay, now don't let go of me, and dont open your eyes."
They all held onto Aelin, as she murmured a spell under her breath. Wind whipped around the alleyway and a blinding white light flashed as the five of them disappeared.

Rowan breathed a sigh of relief as his wife appeared in the courtyard, along with four girls. He sprinted over to embrace them.
"I'll never let you go." He promised, inhaling her gorgeous scent.
