Chapter 4- Awkward!

Aleks's POV

Something was definitely wrong with James. The way he reacted to me asking a simple question just confirmed my suspicions. And now,even after apologizing to him, he barely looks at me. It's like he wants to avoid me, and that he doesn't enjoy my company anymore. "Did I do anything wrong? I thought we had agreed to be friends!", My thoughts flooded my head like a whirlpool. I decided to try and talk to James today, even though he hasn't been giving me much to work with lately. Maybe Seamus or Sly can do something about it. I just wish we could be friends again.

I get in my car and start the ignition, waiting for James. He stumbles out the door, clumsily locks it, and starts trudging towards the car. Close up, it seems pretty obvious that he has been crying, judging by his bloodshot, puffy eyes and his runny nose. When he got it, I didn't ask about, not wanting a repeat of yesterday. He stays quiet, and the air between us is filled with unwanted tension. I quickly turn on the CD player, wanting to get rid of the silence.

We reach the office, and we both get down from the car. I rush to the office, wanting to talk to Sly and Seamus as soon as possible.

James's POV

I watch as Aleks walks hurriedly away from me towards the office. "Am I really that repulsive?", I wondered to myself. "What was his problem?". He could obviously tell that I had been crying. Yet he didn't say anything about it. Weird.

The car ride here was long and uneventful. Aleks's Touché Amoré CD was on replay, but it wasn't loud enough to cover the tension in the air. I kept trying to start a sentence, wanting to say anything, but I was too nervous about the fact that he might just ignore me.

I trudged up the stairs to our office, after saying hello to the receptionist and receiving a sympathetic glance from her. I opened the door and was greeted with cheerful hellos. I could see Aleks sitting in the corner of the room, next to Seamus. Sly immediately notices my puffy eyes. "We'll talk about this later.", He mouths to me, with a sympathetic expression. I walk to my office room and slam the door. The walls were paper thin though, so I could still hear everyone outside.

"Yo, what's wrong with James? He was fine yesterday.", Seamus asks.

"I'm sure he's fine, he probably just needs a bit of space.", Dan said.

"Thank you Dan!", I think to myself. I should give him more credit. He really understands me.

Just then I hear a knock on my door. "James, can I come in?", says Aleks.
