"Are you just going to lie there all day?" asked a kid staring down at me. I'd been lying on the ground for maybe ten minutes, not wanting to get up still thinking about what had happened. I finally found the dude that had been stalking and all I got was a warning. Not true you got to see what it is he looks like. My mind whispered back at me. Great, not only was I seeing things, but I was hearing voices too? I finally took notice of the kid that was looking down at me lying on the ground. He had dark brown straight hair and blue-grey eyes; they had a mischievous look to them. Or maybe it was the smirk playing on his lips that made him look devious. It made him look sort of like a puppy.
"I was thinking about it, gotta problem with that?" I smiled up at him.
He returned the smile, then reached down to help me up.
"Maybe I do." He laughed.
"Thanks man, gotta name?" I smiled at him.
"No problem. Chester. And yours would be?" he smirked at me.
"Anabelle Grey." I replied.
"Pretty, so, I take it you are new here?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"Uh, yeah. How'd you guess?" I chuckled at him.
His face seemed to heat up a bit. "Well, my first day here kinda happened the say way."
I stared at him bemused, "You spent you're first day looking for your homeroom then ended up lying on the ground for the remainder of your homeroom time?"
He hung his head in mock sadness.
"Nice." I said and started to walk back into the office for my bag and my schedule. The lady looked at me kind of funny. It was probably due to the fact that I ran from the office, tackled some random dude, screamed at him, then just stayed lying on the ground for about ten minutes. I thanked her and went outside to find Chester was still standing there I guess waiting for me?
"What's up, buttercup?" he asked me. I cocked an eyebrow and smiled a little.
"Uh.. Nothing, trying to get to..." I looked down at the schedule that lady had given me.
"Pre-Calc?" I gasped shocked. Pre-calc? Why are they making me take pre-calc? It's not like I want to be a math teacher or something.
"Eww.." He said wrinkling his nose a little before returning to his grinning.
I glared at him and asked, "Well, what do you have now?"
Still smiling he pulled a crumpled piece of paper out of his pocket and proceeded to open it. I assumed it was his schedule
"Emm.... Oh shit." His face fell and it was a bit amusing to watch. He was all happy one second, and then he looked at his crumpled piece of paper and his whole demeanor changes. He was like a puppy.
"What?" I asked. He crumpled his schedule and shoved it back into his pocket.
He ruffled his hair with his hands before slumping against the lockers, before responding with, "Looks like we got our first mod class together." He gave me a weary smile.
"Karma." I sang, as I started to walk down the hall only to be pulled back by Chester "Wrong way." He smirked at me. I narrowed my eyes at him, "I knew that." I said and started toward the next direction. I followed after him until we stopped in front of a black door. It looked like the wood had been burned and no one had bothered to fix it. It was beautiful. There were silver spider-like letters on the front of the door. 326. That was the number for my Pre-calc class. I inwardly groaned.
"I dun wanna go." I groaned.
Chester frowned, "Me neither, but we have to." He pushed on my back toward the door that he opened at the last second.
