Madigan Scamander can already feel tension filling her as she stares at the crowd before her. "Honey, are you even listening?" Madigan Scamander is all too like her father. She is painfully shy and social events are always awkward for her. Madigan doesn't find it easy to make friends and going into her sixth year she still hasn't gotten friends even in her kind Hogwarts house, Hufflepuff. Nobody notices her and Madigan both loves and hate that.

"What, mom?" Madigan whispers.

"Can you please promise me that you will try to put yourself out there more."

"Mom-

"Please, honey, for me." Madigan sighs and turns to her father, who gives her a sympathetic smile.

"I know it's hard, Madi, but you gotta try." He tells her as he pushes her hair out of her face. "Just look at me. Look where it got me." He smiles as Tina kisses his cheek. Madigan sighs and looks back at the train.

"I'll try." She whispers. "I have to go. The train will be leaving soon." Her parents both nod as they hug and kiss her cheeks.

"Bye, honey." Tina smiles.

"Write to us. And don't forget to come home winter break. We're going to France for your brother's wedding."

"Okay, dad. I'll see you then. I'll write to you both and Pike." They both nod and give her another hug before she grabs her cart and heads for the train and pulls out her wand, muttering a spell and getting her trunk onto the train. She grabs her pet's cage and heads into the train.

Inside the cage is what looks to be a white fox with sapphire blue eyes that look as bright as the stones. The fox is actually a magical fox. It has the abilities to communicate with people through its mind and the people's minds. It's called an Animo, which means mind in Latin. The Animos are very rare and Newt Scamander gave his daughter it to protect it.

She named the fox, Nix, which means snow in Latin. She carries the cage through the train, looking for a compartment. A boy climbs onto the train just before Madigan, causing her heart to skip a beat in surprise. The boy was handsome. Shoulder length black hair that looks like silk and Madigan is sure feels like silk to the touch. He has eyes that resemble storm clouds and it makes Madigan feel warm all over. He's tall, probably at least six feet. He is thin, but he has a lot of muscles on him, Madigan can clearly see that. Madigan usually doesn't pay close attention to pretty boys, but she knows who this one is and it seems to capture her attention.

Sirius Black. he is known as the heartbreaker of Hogwarts. He has quite a reputation that even nobody Madigan heard about him. She heard he was drop dead gorgeous and she is a little bit overwhelmed to know the rumors had not lied if anything he's even more gorgeous than the rumors say. They also say that he never settles down. He sleeps around with girls and leaves the second he's done with them. Madigan often walked the hallways and seen girls crying due to this boy. In Madigan's house, every one of the girls warns everyone who enters their house not to go anywhere near the boy. Many of the Hufflepuffs don't listen and most times they're the ones crying.

Sirius Black isn't just a heartbreaker though. Madigan hears plenty about the crowd he runs with. Their pranksters and they are the ones behind everything awesome that happens at Hogwarts. He's supposed to some sexy, heartbreaking, prankster, but right now Madigan only sees someone who looks to be miserable. She can see it in his eyes even if the rest of him hide it. He should be happy. He has amazing friends and is pretty popular at school. Madigan never understood why it's the popular kids that are always in the greatest pain.

Sirius Black looks over at Madigan as he enters the train fully. She blushes and looks to the floor, wishing for nothing more than to be swallowed up by it. She never liked being noticed. As depressing as it is she rather be seen through as nothing more than mist than to be looked at. She slowly lifts her eyes and sees him staring right at her. He isn't looking through like everyone else, he's looking right at her.

Madigan's hands are trembling, already feeling the anxiety of being noticed. She can't handle this. She can't handle people in general and to be noticed by someone so.... noticeable, it creates a shaky sick feeling inside Madigan.

Nothing is said between the two, Sirius just keeps staring at her as she keeps wishing to disappear. "You have a feather in your hair." His voice almost makes Madigan pass out right there. His voice is deep, but smooth, and sounds as lovely as windchimes. Madigan lifts her eyes and looks into the storm clouds that are his eyes. Her breath catches as he walks towards her. Her entire body is tensed, ready to flee the second she sees danger. She reminds Sirius of a little doe in the woods. Waiting to hear from hunters.

Sirius lifts his hand up slowly and pulls out a gray feather from Madigan's vibrant red curls. He holds it up and twirls it around between his thumb and forefinger. "See." Madigan swallows, but it feels as if she's swallowing sawdust. Sirius' eyes remain on her for a very long time. "See you around, Red." Her cheeks flush at the nickname as Sirius turns and heads down the hallway.

Only when he's out of sight does Madigan feel like she can breathe. Her hands are shaking as she opens a door to a compartment, thankfully it's empty, and she hurries in. She locks the compartment with her sweaty hands and only when it's locked and closed does she lean against it and let out a shaky breath. She closes her eyes and gives into the whispers that have been in her ear, trying to get into her mind to hear.

You were blushing. You think he's cute, don't you? I think he's cute. You're both cute together.

A squeaky and cheerful voice enters her mind as she opens her eyes and looks down at the little Animos. "Glad you think he's cute." Madigan whispers. "But I think I might pass out."

Oh, don't worry so much, Madi. You did well. You didn't even burst into tears like last time. I say you're getting better at this whole socializing thing.

"Glad you think so." She whispers as she slides down the floor. "Because I sure as heck don't."

You're improving, Madi. Just breathe and relax. Everything will be okay. I'm sure Mr. Black will leave you alone.

"Why wouldn't he leave me alone?" Madigan squeaks, not liking the idea that Nix actually brought that up.

Oh... uh...

"Do you think he'll come back? Nix, be honest."

Well.... it's just... the way he looked at you is the way I look at a nice juicey bass.

"Oh Merlin, Nix, you're not helping me here." Madigan whispers as she covers her hands with her sweaty hands.

Hey, don't do that, Madi! You'll ruin your perfect face with those sweaty hands. Sweat causes zits and you don't want that on your perfect face

Madigan gives the fox a look as she wipes her face with her sleeve. Madigan is a beautiful girl. She is small, only 5'1", but she has porcelain skin that doesn't have a single blemish or zit on it. The only defect on her skin is the millions of freckles on her face. Her bright blue eyes resemble sapphire stones almost perfectly and her pale skin only makes their color intensify.

If Madigan put herself out there more than she'd probably have just as a reputation of being gorgeous as Sirius, but she's too shy and she hides behind books.

Don't think too hard. You'll hurt your already big brain and you'll finally succeed with blowing it up and then I won't be able to talk to you. No brain, no communication.

"Not helping, Nix." Madigan sighs. "Let's just get situated." She says as she stands back up and sits down on the seat. She lets Nix out and puts her backpack on the other side of her, pulling out a huge book to read.

How do you even read that?

"Nix, I'm kicking you out of my head, so I can read, sorry." Madigan says before kicking Nix out and leaving only a soft whispering in her ear that she can't make out. Madigan sighs, opens her books, and begins to read her anxiety away.

AN: There's not many redhead actresses that would look like the shy girl that I am trying to protray as Madigan, so her actress doesn't match Madigan's description perfectly, but this actress is the closest I could get, so.... sorry. I hope you like the first chapter.
