Ninja's P.O.V.:
'Honestly, people need to quit staring at my mask. It kind of makes me uncomfortable. Though, they will never know that.' After studying the place I now call my school, I finally walk inside. I follow the signs that say "office" with arrows pointing the way.
As I walk into the office, the receptionist greeted me with, "Are you Ms. Lucy Mosse?" I nod in confirmation. "I was made aware of your situation. I have let all the faculty know that you do not take off your mask. We have someone similar to you in that aspect." I slightly tilted my head to the right. 'Hmm... Someone else wears a mask? Interesting...'
"-here is your schedule, and he should be here soon to show you," the receptionist finished with a smile. I took my schedule and studied it. I had started attending High School of the Arts a week into the first semester. 'My classes are Earth Space and then Drawing II. Looks like I only have two classes the rest of the year. Perk of being a senior I guess.'
I heard the door behind me open. "Good morning Mrs. Loletsky. How are you this morning?" I heard a male voice start speaking. I turn to the newcomer.
'He looks tall, well, a lot of people are tall compared to me... Asian descent... Seems nice enough.' Just as I though that, they finish their "pleasant" conversation. "You must be the person I'm supposed to show around. My name is Evan, but you can call me Vanoss." 'Peculiar name.' I slightly nod and quickly get out a sheet of paper and a pencil. I hurriedly write something down. Then, I hand him the note and my schedule. I watch him read the note and my schedule.
"Okay,...  Ninja?" He questioned slightly as of for confirmation. I nodded and he continued, "follow me.  We have the same classes this semester. I'll also introduce you to some of my friends, okay?" He paused and waited. I hesitantly nod. As he starts to lead me to my first class, I look around and memorize the way. After he observed me for a minute or two, he asked, "do you ever talk?" I shake my head no.
He waited a few seconds before saying, "by the way, I like your mask. It's cool." I quickly turn my head and look at him in bewilderment. I slightly nod my head in thanks. We remain silent for the rest of the walk. Before we, well he, knocked on the door, he told me, "good luck today." I look at him skeptocally. 'Why is he telling me good luck? Is it because of the teachers? Or is it because I'm  starting school late? Only one way to find out I guess.'
------------------Later that day-------------------
'Now I know why he wished me luck,' I deadpanned exhaustedly. 'I'm glad no one can see my face and expressions. I probably look like a tired idiot.'
     "Hey Ninja! Over here!"
I turned my head at the mention of my name. 'Huh? Oh yea, Ev- er Vanoss, wanted me to meet his friends.' I walk as slowly as I could without showing my reluctance towards his group.  When I arrived, I caught the tail end of what Vanoss was saying.
"-talk. So be sure to ask yes or no questions, okay?" The other guys nodded in understanding. "I'm glad you didn't leave yet Ninja! These are my friends! This is Tyler or Wildcat, Marcel, Lui, Luke or Cartoonz, Craig or Mini Ladd, Brock or Moo, Brian or Terrorizer, Ryan or Ohm, David or Nogla, and Jonathan or Delirious." I looked at each person he pointed to as he introduced them. They all said their version of hello. I nod in greeting.
"So, how was your first day of hell," asked the one called Terrorizer. I lifted my hand and flattened it, and then, I shook it in a so-so manner.
"That rough huh? Geez, and this is supposed to be an easy day for you," said Brock, I think. I looked at him and shrugged. 'There are too many people. I can't possibly motion to them all!' I started to breathe faster than normal. 'Crap! I'm having a slight anxiety attack!' I take my phone out of my pocket and type an excuse to leave. I noticed my hands were shaking slightly more than normal. I turned the screen around and let them read it.
"Oh, you're parents expect you home in a few minutes? Well, alright then. Bye! See you tomorrow," Mini Ladd, I think, exclaimed. I waved in goodbye while they all said their byes.  I walked away as fast as I coukd without seeming desperate to leave. While walking down the street, I tried to control my breathing. Seeing that it wasn't working, I got my ear buds out and plugged them into my phone. I put them in my ears and chose a song.  After about a minute into the song, my breathing started to return to normal and I relaxed.
'I don't want to start talking again. It hasn't done me any good so far in my life. I feel as though it's going to be inevitable,' I look at my feet deep in thought while waiting at a crosswalk. 'They will get me to talk. I can just feel it. I need to avoid them. Talking to then won't do anyone any good. It's only going to put then in extreme danger.' I notice the light turned green. I started walking. I didn't live in a very populated part of the city. 'Looks like I'm going to be walking for a while,' I thought bitterly.
