The next day they began to make up for lost time, never letting the other leave their sight and never getting too far away. Pilot was more happy to see her than words can say, but was also partly stalling for time as Artman was planning a huge party to welcome her home.
She also had a surprise.
"So pilot, while I was away I earned a lot of money I didn't know what to do with, so I bought a house." She smiled triumphantly as she stopped outside a two story house with white walls and a deep red roof.
He gasped, quickly looking at her as if to ask a most obvious question.
" And I already Talked to Danish and Ellora over the phone. They said that you could live here with me. If you want to live with me you won't have to sleep outside anymore." She smiled brightly at him.
"YES !!! It'll be like a sleepover every night! And we can cuddle and play games and talk about all the things we missed out on in each other's lives and adopt kids and get puppies and-"
"Woah! Slow down there, adopt kids?" She asked with a smile on her face.
His face heated up in realization that he had let that part slip out.
"Well, we are robots, so we can't really have any on our own, so I just thought that we could adopt and be a family." He scratched the back of his head.
"You're cute when you blush. Of course We'll be a family. And we'll have plenty of dogs and cats." She kissed his nose as he smiled.
He ran inside the house.
"Catch me if you can!" He shouted.
"No fair!" She called after him as she ran inside.
The two may have seemed like kids to onlookers, but they were happy this way. They were happy taking one day at a time and spending each moment they had together as something beautiful, weather it was happy or sad, It was always priceless.
The distance brought them that much closer together.
And nothing can ever tear them apart again.
She's keeping a secret from him. A secret that isn't so important as it is useful.
She'll never be called back to that battlefield because she was sent home for injury...
