"The Council sadly welcomes you to one of the very first Klexings of this year." Her words accompanied by the tweets and chirps of the nearby birds. I was sitting in a very uncomfortable chair, in the middle of a slightly spherical stadium. The endless seating was arranged in a fibonacci spiral, starting at the middle: Me.
"Today, mankind's traitor is Isaac Faraday of the New California Republic" Her voice like red velvet, presumably to cover the thorns of her deeply seeded intentions. The back of my neck still pulsing and sore from the displacement implant they put in earlier that morning.
"Please, have a personal moment of silence for Cameron James Waisher. Hed was brutally murdered by his own kin. Shot in the head, by his only brother." There they go, making everything sound horrifically terrible."But as promised, we will never be anything like those we take into justice. Taking no lives, only placing them elsewhere to do some much needed thinking and live their lives as they can." My heart now pounding twice as hard, knowing what is getting incredibly close. I am a nobody right now, not a single soul in this place cares about what's to come for me.
They say they're not killing anyone with their new punishment. But I will be dead to anyone in this world, right here, right now. I would have died millions of years ago. I meet the eyes of as many people as I can, looking for sympathy. I find nothing but dead eyes, showing no emotion. Knowing if they did, they might be next. You don't disobey or disagree with the Council; I was being made into another public example of why.
That's when my eyes meet the galaxy's that are Kaisha's. Her face emotionless, but those galaxy's are twinkling with tears. So much hurt and empathy wrapped up in them. I hadn't expected to see her. As if people had much of a choice. Maybe I expected some mercy. Silly me.
The lady with the voice of velvet walks over to the main control panel. Its connected to the device that will inevitably change my life forever. It towers directly over me, at least two stories up. She flips a switch and my heart jumps, it's on now. The metal stretches out in two opposite directions, the light in the middle now shining a deep florescent red.
"Under ordinance from the Council, Isaac Faraday, you are hereby Klexed from the New California Republic and all surrounding areas of this time zone. Let you ponder your wrong doings everyday from here on out, and good luck."
I can't feel my fingers, my stomach steadily climbing my throat. Tears escaping my eyes, but trying to keep my composure as I watch her heavy gaze sink into me like lava. I swear she's trying not to smile. What does she get out of this? Pride?
Just like that she pushes a glowing green button in the center of the panel. Immediately, electric sparks fly and what looks like pale blue lightning forms a sphere around the deep red light. It shoots out in a horizontal circle hitting the coils placed around the spiral stadium. A half circle of lightning forms above everyone when it suddenly turns purple and shoots back into the red light above me. Instantaneously the purple lightning drops to the aching implant in the back of my neck as water is sprinkling all over me.
I feel pure electricity deep into my bones.

Air, I need air. Opening my curious eyes, all see are fuzzy waves of blue green water. Its shallow enough to reach the top. As i grab my footing, I launch myself up out of the lake gasping for air. My body feels like it was ran over by a freight train.
I take a deep breath and survey my surroundings.
Huge deep green trees surround me in every direction, thick bushes the sizes of cars. Across the water there were a few dog sized beetles. Stress building up in my chest like steam in a tea kettle, I was about to blow.
My heart speeding a million miles a minute. My breathing follows, forcing me to start hyperventilating. My eyes darting between all the new noises, my mind racing. Get it together. I close my eyes. Breathe. I take several slow deep breaths, then go sit by a tree near the lake to gather myself.
As I lean against the tree, I feel the slim backpack they had given me before the ceremony. I had forgotten until now. The seemingly waterproof sack had a water purifier, a few plastic jars, a pocket knife, and a fire starter. I fill up my clear jars with the purified lake water, and start walking.
The relentless sun is hot on my back, I decide to take off the microfiber winter jacket and put it in my backpack. As I'm zipping it back up, the ground vibrates slightly. It gradually grows into a more shakey boom and my heart sinks. I give in to my insticts and start running. I'm not ready to find out what that thing is.
After the vibration fades to nothing, i slow my pave slightly. I keep myself jogging through the archaic jungle for what feels like hours. Only taking a few brief stops to rehydrate. The scenery of this place is breathtakingly astounding.
As I'm running through the huge jungle, I start to notice a disfiguration at the bottom of an oncoming tree. Ever so slight, but I notice it. Closing in on the tree, I see the unmistakable shape of a door. Maybe I wasn't as alone as I thought.
