Chapter 9: The Final Fight

The building was clear when I checked the top floor, the floor was empty except for a few broken chairs and paperwork everywhere. When I went outside the tower, all the guards were talking to someone in a green and yellow suit. One of the guards said, “We can’t, sir. The aeons are too strong for our forces, we need a high summoner. Otherwise, the world turns to another aeon planet and then we have to blow Bravalia up!” Then Dante walked over to speak with the general and asked his name, the general answered, “My name is General Leo, and by the looks of you, Dante, you’re just the person we are looking for. Can you help us find these aeons and kill them please, that would really be nice.”
I walked over to General Leo and we spoke for a few minutes about aeons and how long they have been around for. I said, “I can only summon one person and her name is Saxon. She’s actually an aura and when I’m in a battle with a strong boss, the symbol on my arm that represents her glows and I allow Saxon to help me.” While General Leo listened, Dante spoke to all of the guards and asked them, “Do you know where that aeon, Bahamut, flew off to?”
“He flew off towards the mountains where all the aeons meet their master, Xi.” One of the guards said, Dante nodded and walked over to me and General Leo yelled to all of the guards, “Everyone pay attention, I want all the high guards to go back to our base while the low guards stay here and defend Chapolis. I’ll go with Dante and Thorne to where the aeons are waiting for us, is that clear?”
All the guards responded at once, “SIR, YES SIR!” And half the troops teleported to their base while the other half split up and started to defend Chapolis. Dante, General Leo and I all ventured to The Summoners Ground. The travel will be a four day walk with possibilities of: ambushes, travellers’, cities, towns, traders, and a lot of unwanted attention.
The annoying thing about it is, The Summoners Ground is actually a floating continent and the only way to get there is by airship, and the only two people who can fly any sort of airship is Setzer and Cid. Setzer is a gambler and can beat anyone in any sort of betting game, and Cid is a mechanic who fixes and builds anything mechanical like airships, magitek armor and builds small airships for any expedition.
The first problem that we encountered was the fact that we had no supplies, and we had to make camp soon or we would be facing Nightwolves. I teleported quickly to Chapolis to get supplies and a few tents for the upcoming days of doom, I teleported back to Dante and General Leo and set up camp. We were attacked by a few overgrown mosquitoes, and when I mean ‘overgrown’, I mean by literally three metres long by two metres high. I burnt them all with Fira and what was left of them was burnt wings and blood. Two hours later we were ambushed by goblins and imps. I was the only one who got hurt so it took longer to kill them.
When morning struck we packed up our stuff and ventured forth, but slower because my wound on my leg still hurts. I used a potion but nothing happened so I inspected it and some green substance was showing up around the wound. I didn’t know what it was so I asked Dante and General Leo, “Do both of you know what this green thing on my leg, I’m really curious and I have a theory that it might be Poison.”
Both of them shook their heads in doubt so we took up the three (or more) days left walk, every step I take it hurts my leg more, five hours later I fell onto my knees and my vision started to get blurry, I couldn’t see straight. Dante helped me up but I can’t feel anything on my leg so I fell back down and my vision started to go black. The only thing I knew now, I’m going to die.
We had to teleport back to Chapolis because I can’t go on like this, so we did and everyone knew that I failed to go with Dante and General Leo. I had to crawl to the hospital to get my leg checked and had to have surgery on my leg. It took almost two months for the surgery on my leg because if the poison that was in my leg, and about three more weeks for walking therapy so Dante and General Leo would’ve done their quest already.
The next morning I saw not just Dante and General Leo, but also Arya, Matt, Mathew, Simon, Jordan, Bridy, Arariel, Brausker, Beloxur, Akara, Lyna, Yviene, Gundir, and Anumi were all there standing around the bed. I was so happy to see them all, I sat up and said, “I have no idea what to say right now, I have so many questions to ask but only one can be asked. How did you get here?” Arya spoke with every single word coming out of her mouth. I listened to every single word and made all the words sink in.
The story was really long with a few breaks from the really nice nurse who fed us healthy food like fruits from their garden (which I grew behind the building), apple pie and tarts, and some kind of weird food which apparently helps the muscles. I asked the nurse, “Am I allowed to go yet?” And the nurse said, “Only a few more tests and then you can leave. You can choose someone to stay here for a few days while we run the tests.” I nodded and chose Arya so she could tell me more about The Summoners Ground where they met up with Dante and General Leo.
