Dear diary,
Have you ever felt that life is seriously plotting against you? Have you ever felt that life is teasing you? Have you ever felt that something is seriously weird in your life because so many coincidences can not be explained by using your logic alone? Probably not, because you are diary, so lucky you... you don't have feelings!
Today, was my first day as Year 13 student! So many years of preparation all aiming at this year... aiming at getting the "perfect" grades in order to go to the "perfect" university, graduate with the highest possible degree and then go into a job which is going to give you more money that you need in order to live. Isn't that what most students believe that is the point of education? Probably yes, if we have as an example my college at least. For me though, education is more like a way of being able to broad my horizons, understand who I am and come closer to my dream to change the world. However, this time is also the right time to make mistakes ... it is the best time to make mistakes and learn from them! No- one is born perfect because perfection is simple an illusion, it does not exist! But, because we are not perfect that means that we have the ability to learn, we have the ability to become better and what is the best way to learn? Making mistakes! So yeah... I suppose that this year is going to be pretty enjoyable, interesting and full of mistakes.
How "interesting" this year is going to be was clearly shown to me by having such a "fantastic" first day and it this fact especially illustrated when Libra opened the door of the Philosophy Pre- U classroom. As usual, the classroom format was like the greek letter Π, Oscar McAllistair (the philosopher tutor) was standing next to the white board drinking tea (he is so British) and wearing his black shirt for one more time while his long hair looked messy, Demon, Charles and Julian were sitting in the right top corner of the Π and now... in front of my seat at the right end of the tables' format, there was a new student, who was giving me an ironic smile at the moment. He was laying his back on his chair, while he had placed his pale white hand in his head trying to make his dark as the night hair look more messy than before, while his black, blank from emotion, eyes were staring at me.
"Gabriel, can you quick tell us how Locke defines innate ideas?" Oscar asked and he sat in the blue plastic chair which was in front of his desk
" This idiot defines innate ideas as 'some primary notions...Characters as it were stamped upon the Mind of Man, which the Soul receives in its very first Being; and brings into the world with it' happy?" he said to the tutor with arrogance
"Isn't that the guy with who you were speaking earlier this morning?" Libra asked me with a low voice
"Yeah... I had the 'honour' to have such an amazing conversation with Mr No- Social- Manners!" I replied to her and I took Luna from her baby pink colour case
"What happened? He seems to be pretty smart! He rememberers Locke's definition word by word, when in the same time I get confused about what it means." my best friend responded
"Honey, your Iq is not the thing that will make you successful in life. Your ability to be able to communicate with other people is what is going to play a crucial factor in being successful. But anyway, we should stop talking about this guy!" I said
"Well, we all know what a rationalist you are Gabriel, but don't be rude to one of the best philosophers of all time." Oscar told him
"If the guy is an idiot, I have to say that he is. Don't forget that I can say whatever I want based on the Human Rights Act 1998 Article 10 on Freedom of Expression." he said and gave me a look
" This article might give you the ability to say what you want, but that does not mean that you can go around and call everyone 'idiot' or 'stupid'. " I said to him
"Then what is the point of Freedom of Speech?" he asked, while drinking some coffee from his Starbucks cup
"Hey guys! As much as I was looking forward to have you two together in my class, lets end the conversation and do some proper philosophy!" Oscar said and stoop up
So dear diary... dear no- one... my first day was pretty weird. But of course, I will not let a rich posh guy who is wearing a Prada outfit, has the latest iPhone and can not act as a civil being to affect my days at college because he clearly does not deserve it! If he wants to act as an arrogant, rich boy, I will let him be that. However, he will have to understand who I am and see that I am not like the girls he is associated with.
That is all for today,
See you tomorrow,
K xxx
" Second entry at the diary is done! Well done K haha" I told to myself "Mamma, can you come and help me to go to the bed please?"
"I am coming baby!" she said and after few minutes the heavy wooden door opened and my mother came intro the room
As you can imagine, transferring to bed, is not piece of cake for someone like me... for an Xman! Instead of being born as Professor X and be able to control everything with my mind (the best superpower ever) or be like Mystique and change looks, my mutant ability is having lazy muscles that are that lazy that are not even bothered to make me stand. However, I have to admit that with the "lazy muscles" superpower, comes something else as well; the ability to be flexible and think out of the box. Therefore, in the end it might not be such an annoying superhero ability.
" Do you need anything else, my darling?" my mom asked after I was placed in the right position under my white thick duvet
" Can I have Luna, s'il vous plaît?" I asked
" Voilà!" said my mom after bringing my laptop to me and placing it on a pillow at my legs and then she kissed me goodnight and closed my bedroom door
When the door was closed and I was finally alone in my room with my thoughts being my best companions, I logged in Wattpad and started writing the third chapter of my novel "Alliance". A nice way to end a strange day...
